I have been told that on Tuesday, 9th of January 2018 you will arrange for a deposit of a Ozlotto win into my nominated bank account, and it didn't happen as advised.

I looked up my bank account today and the deposit did not go through as advised. This is very bad PR and I want this matter taken of immediately, otherwise I will have no other option but to take other measures to recoup my winnings at your cost.

use the CD that came with the motherboard. do a setup and configure the motherboard. you need to update the Chipset software in order for the motherboard to recognize the hard drive header.

SOURCE: Win XP CD repair wont accept admin passwd.

saidfrh1, you closed the prior thread too soon.

Okay, so no System Restore option.

First you can check the Admin password by trying to go into Safe Mode. Immediately after the splash screen, press F8 until the Startup option menu displays. Select the first option (Safe Mode) and then the Administrator account. Type in the password you think it is, and double check your Caps-Lock key first. I do not think it advisable to post the diections on how to remove such a password on this site.

But even verifying the admin password will NOT help you get this machine restarted and running correctly because there is nothing in the Repair Console to remedy the System Recovery option being turned off. There is nothing to go back to.

Since you obviously do have an installation disc, hopefully one that matches you OS (XP Home for Home or XP Pro for Pro), you have two more options.

First is run a System File Check, which is Window's way of fixing some damage to itself. It is not infallible, but it may restore enough missing files to get you running smoothly again. Go to the Start Button->All Programs->Accessories->Command Prompt. This will open a DOS box where you can type in the following command:

sfc /scannow

and press Enter. The routine will start, and it will take a while to complete. Hopefully it will prompt you to insert the installation disc so it can read and transfer the missing files to the hard drive. If the Windows XP Installer pops up from autorun just click cancel. Let this routine run all the way through, then reboot.

I have also had some success by reinstalling the latest Service Pack (currently SP3) to replace files the installer finds missing.

If that doesn't work, then you can do a Repair Installation. I'll wait to hear your results with the System File Check first as a repair install can be tricky (drivers, COA, etc.).

Oh, and I have no idea what ragmani69 is trying to suggest. It definitely would not work for your problem.

How do i find out if I have won a prize

Look at who sent you the email or letter. If you have NOT entered this contest, look out...especially if you are required to pay ANYTHING! You may be a target of phishing, or an organized crime effort, likely Money Laundering!
The scam goes something like this; First, you win a lottery you never entered. Second, in order to receive yohr winnings, you must deposit a check in your bank account and send the lottery company a sum of money out of your account. Then you will receive the full sum ofvyour winnings.
Actually, You have won nothing. The first check you receive is a phony check drawn on a bank that ddoesn't exist. Whenbyou try to deposit that check, if they accept the check, and you withdraw the amount you are supposed to send to the phoney lottery company, you have LAUNDERED MONEY! When. You send the money you withdrawn from your account, and sent it to the phoney lottery company, they have sold you a phoney check for the money you sent them! Then the "lottery company" vanishes and you are the one the authorities come looking for. You can even be charged and convicted for depositing the phoney check and withdrawing the real money!
Be careful if you are told that you "won" something you did not enter to win! And internet lotteries are phonies...everyone"wins"'!
