I started mower in tall grass. It started up and immediately stopped. Could not get it started. Replaced battery. Charged 12 hours. Still will not operate. Green light is on. Noticed the blade seems to turn too easily if I spin it manually.

After charging the mower, you must place the safety key in the mower before it will start. On models that have a bail handle, be sure to pull the bail handle back to the mower handle before engaging the start lever. If your mower still does not start, remove the safety key and ensure the bail and start lever are in the "off" position. Then firmly re-insert the safety key, pull the bail handle to the mower handle and engage the start lever.

Note - It is important that the bail and start lever are returned to the "off" position before inserting the safety key.
Give it try, if it still will not operate you may have to take it in for service.
Good luck, let me know.
Regards,

Mulch insert frequently gets clogged and mower stops running. I have to turn over the mower and use a stick or similar garden tool to clear out grass from around the mulch insert once EVERY pass.

Dear Sandi,
If I read your missive correctly, I believe your mower is too small for this task.
It would appear to me you could do one of 2 things.
1) mow it more frequently , before the grass grows so tall, ( like maybe 2-3 times a week,) or get a bigger and stronger mower.
Remember too, electric mowers are not usually very strong, but gasoline engine mowers , some are so strong they can mow a forest!
.God bless your efforts.

Tucomse moer 5.5 Won't speed up when cutting tall grass.

These push-mowers have a limited power, when you hit tall grass there is much more resistance on the blades. Even higher power riding mowers can stall on tall grass.

Yardman 38" 7160 the deck belt is loose

Have you been mowing high grass, and how long has the belt been on? if you have mowed tall grass or belt is older than 2 years old it needs replaced, most don't realize how much a belt stretches from mowing tall grass. I hope this has been helpful.

Husqvarna YTH20K46

Is this the first time cutting grass with a lawn tractor?
How tall of grass?
Use the grass cutting heigth adjustments on the tractor to a higher setting when cutting tall grass. Cut again to a lower height setting on the second pass. Grass higher than your tractor is not good for your tractor. Follow the manual instructions for best results.

My Toro mower is 7 yrs old. 3 speeds, blade

I've noticed that when the blade get dull it work harder a cutting tall grass. I just put a new blade on mine and now it runs and sounds like a brand new mower. also if the inside of the deck is coated with old grass that makes a differance too

Motor has low torque

common complains for electric & cordless mower is that they are not ment for cutting on wet or dump grasses or long tall grasses they will bog down. for this type of unit blade should be extremely sharp. also clean the under the deck so you can better air flow for the blade. if your switch & rectifier are new & in right connection then have you armature check for short circuit..
