Where is port to connect USB cable?

I just bought the PowerShot SD1000. Of course I know how to plug the USB cable into my computer, but i have searched through the User Guide and also the Software Manual, and some sort of a diagram that came in the box with the camera. All I want is a PICTURE to show how to plug the @#$!@#$ cable into my camera. Seems like a simple thing, but it seems to be missing. Maybe I'm missing it but I've looked a long time.

The software guide says: Attach the supplied interface cable to the computer's USB port and the camera's DIGITAL Terminal. But where is the Digital Terminal? The camera UG index references pgs 2 and 27 for Digital Terminal. But neither page contains the words "Digital Terminal" nor a picture of the cable plugging into the camera.

I'm sorry you're having trouble with this. I have put together a picture that shows where the mini-USB plug is supposed to be attached to the camera. I hope it helps. This picture actually shows plugging the AV cable into the receptical, but right behind it is the mini-USB port. This is where you connect the USB cable. It looks like you have to lift the flap on the corner to reveal the plugs.

Canon power shot sd1000 won't connect to my computer anymore. The computer does not sense that there are pictures on the camera!

ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS TO COMPUTER
If your photos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos to your computer. Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. You can copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off your memory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing any programs.

Software lost on old computer for powershot sd1000

You don't need any additional software.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use iPhoto or any other photo cataloging program.

Computer not recognizing my camera when connected

Most of the issues can be solved by either reinstalling the software or by disconnecting and reconnecting the device.
In this case we can close in on three solutions
1) The USB drive in the system is not functioning. Try connecting any other USB devices to the same USB port and check whether it works or not. If the other device works well then it could be a problem with the data cable or with the port in the camera (usually firewire)

2) The data cable used to transfer data might have become faulty.Try using another data cable if possible and still the same issue continues then try connecting another camera to the system and if the other camera gets detected then the problem must be with the camera.

3) Try connecting the same camera to another system and see whether the camera gets detected. If no, then the port in the camera is defective.

After this we can close in on which could be faulty. data cable / Computer / Camera.

After downloading is finished, unplug the USB cable and run the software that you downloaded.
The software installer will tell you when to connect USB.

Battery not recharging

Hi

You can't charge your battery while it is in the camera; the USB cable that connects to your computer is for transferring pictures not charging the battery.

Canon zoombrowser Ex downloading problem

The sd1000 manual says that you will get this error when you have too many pictures on your memory card (aprox 1000). I am not sure how many I had on my 2GB card but it was a lot. I deleted about 50 - 100 pictures and then it started working again and the new pictures downloaded to the computer.
