I have a amana refrigerator, I changed to water filter and the light is still on

Are you talking about the inside lights are the dispenser lights?

the water filter should be changed at least every 6 mos. when the filter is dirty it will not allow the water to flow at full force because it is restricted. change the filter and I think that will be the answer.

Hi: I don't know if you have the manual, but you have to hold down the lock button down for several seconds to release it. That how it works. I hope this helps and you don't need service. As a last resort unplug the fridge for an hour ( don't open it in the interim) then plug it back in and see if it resets. I hope this helps, Jeff

you will wither have to push the light switch button 5 times or push and hold reset button or 2 at a time. Look at the display carefully it usually will tell you what you need to do

Step 2:
Flush a couple of gallons of water through your new filter. Since most refrigerator water filters are made of carbon, some carbon residue is present in the first gallon or two of water.
