I can recieve my United Kingdom hotmail on my samsung jet but I need the settings to send emails

The really good news is the air parts of these
switches are terribly easy to test.. Could just be a loose nut on the tubing...

This is simply a mail from frauds. Keep safe distance from these kind of emails. Why would you expect to win money when you have never participated in it?


These kind of mails and messages are send to email IDs and mobile nos. very often and this is a very common phenomenon.


Next time, they will actually ask you for a bank account no. to which they want to send the money and basically they want to hack that account of course. Please avoid these e-mails for your own safety.

The hotmail setting has also changed on my Sony Ericsson K800i - I can see the email title - but not access them or send a reply. please help!!

I'm not sure if this is of any help
to anyone but these are the steps
I used to set up email on my
Monte. I'm using an old hotmail
account that didn't support IMAP
or SMTP properly.
1.Set Up a GMail account eg.
[email protected]
2.Set GMail to allow IMAP via the
settings link the the top right
hand corner. (under Forwarding
and POP/IMAP)
3.Under accounts and import set
up the send mail as to send mail as
[email protected]. Set this
to default send adress
4.In the same tab under check
mail using pop3 set up the pop3 to
recieve from someone@
hotmail.co.uk
5.Under Email Accounts on the
Monte set up email with the
following charecteristics:
Account Name: Hotmail
SMTP Server: smtp.gmail.com
SMTP Port: 465
Secure Connection: SSL
Incoming Server Type: IMAP4
IMAP4 Server: imap.gmail.com
IMAP Port: 993
APOP login: greyed out
Secure Connection: SSL
Download Limit: 500
IMAP4 incoming email: New
Retrieving option: Whole Message
Keep on server: checked
My email adress: someone@
hotmail.co.uk (This is the adress
the phone puts in the from line of
an email)
Username: [email protected]
Password: gmail password
Pop before smtp: greyed out
SMTP auth: checked
Same as POP3/IMAP4: checked
Username: greyed out
Passowrd: greyed out
This should allow you to recieve
new messages from the time you
set up the gmail account on your
phone and to send emails with all
the appearences of coming from
your hotmail account while
actually coming from google's
smtp server. Really do check that
the GMail is set up properly, make
sure it recieves emails adressed
to your hotmail and that it sends
in your hotmail account's name.

For Windows Vista, 7 and 2008

Click "Windows Start" button
Click "Control Panel"
Click "Region and language"
Now click on "Keyboards and languages" tab
Click "Change Keyboards" button
In General tab, click "Add" button
a window called "Add Input Language" will come
Scroll down till you get "English (United Kingdom)"
Expand "English (United Kingdom)"
Expand "keyboard"
Tick "United Kingdom"
Click "OK" button

Now in "Text setrvices and Input languages" windows 
click the drop down button
you will fine "English United kindom"
Select that and click "Apply" and then "OK"

For Windows XP, 2000 and 2003

Click "Windows Start" button
Click "Control Panel"
Click "Region and language options"
In "Regional option" tab
click the drop down button near the customise button
select "English (united kingdom)"
in the location box too, select "United Kingdom"
Now , in the language tab, clikc "Details" button
in the Installed service box, click "Add" button
in Input language, select english(United Kingdom)
keyboard layout will be selected automatically to united kingdom.
click "OK"
Now, in Default input language. click the drop down button and select "English (United Kingdom).
Click "Apply" and "OK"
Again click "Apply" and "OK"

According to Archos website the only methods they have to contact their tech support or customer service is by email or Post.

You need to check your keyboard setting layout , look for it in your control panel and change the layout to either uk or us, which ever applies to you.

I have the following (and complete) list of settings on my Jet for my hotmail account and it is receiving and sending emails correctly. (After seeing 6 posts and none with a full solution, something needs to be done .. RAGE!!)
Account name - "random name" SMTP sever - smtp.live.com SMTP port - 25 Secure Connection - TLS Incoming Server Type - POP3 POP3 Server - pop3.live.com POP3 port - 995 APOP login - unchecked Secure connection - SSL Download limit - 50 IMAP4 incoming email - New (faded out tho) Retrieving option - Subject only Keep on server - checked My address - [email protected] User name - [email protected] Password - **my hotmail acc password** POP before SMTP - unchecked SMTP auth. - checked Same as POP3/IMAP4 - unchecked User name - [email protected] Password - **my hotmail acc password**
Some tech info to help problem solve. POP3 is the technology involved with receiving email, SMTP is involved with sending. (Lots of people saying they could receive but not send, but their SMTP settings weren't correct)

It is a Scam. they want your money. Anybody that tells you you won something for nothing is a scam. They are rip offs. They will tell you that you won the lottery in some other country. It is all baloney.
