SOURCE: Edge Enhancement Option Disabled...

edge enhancement option i think would be enabled if you are in dynamic or movie mode. What it does is to enhance the contrast of the edges of 2 different colors.

I have the LA32S8, similar specs but only 7000:1 CONTRAST ratio. when playing dvd, i set it to movie mode. Settings vary on different tv and player. you can adjust first the backlight, then brightness then contrast, color and sharpness. the brightness you adjust by choosing the level that shows enough details on dark scenes. adjust if its too dark not to see the details of the scene. contrast, you can set by distiguishing vivid colors of the picture, dont put too much contrast as your picture would look flat. it should have a 3d look, same also with sharpness, you can experiment on the face of a person to show details on the edges.
color you set just enough to make it accurate on color reproduction.

My settings for movie are
contrast 92
brightness 49
sharpness 23
color 57
tint g48 r52
backlight 7
tone warm1
digital NR off
black adjust high
dynamic ocntrast high
gamma +2
edge enhancement on
color space auto

SOURCE: Kenmore HE2 Plus Error Code: F-20

You probably have this solved by now but for others who read this as I did.............
F-20 means
“F20” on display
(Water Inlet Problem—no water or insufficient
water supply) Select PAUSE/CANCEL twice to cancel the cycle
Unplug washer or disconnect power. Check the following: Are water faucets completely turned on?
Are screens at inlet hose connection to washer
clogged? Are water inlet hoses kinked? Are water inlet hoses frozen?
Hope this helps everyone else as it did me, thanks

SOURCE: How do I remove the guide plus from coming on at power up?

I found the solution!

With the remote, press the Guide button. This should bring up the Guide Plus+ screen. Press the right arrow to move the cursor all the way to set up and it will ask, "What would you like to do?" Arrow down to "Review Options" and press OK.
The first question is, "Guide Plus+ System Auto Display? On / Off"
Arrow down to Off and press OK.

Two continuous problems that I've had with Safari and seen posted everywhere (these aren't new)-- is there any plans to enable flash support for the mobile browser? I know that ship has probably sailed,...

Apple does not support flash on mobile browsers and never will. Flash is on it's way out the door and is no longer being developed by Adobe. If you want to browse a flash website on your iPad or iPhone, there are Alternative browsing apps you can buy on the app store to do it. They are not great and they are primary developed for playing Flash games on the web, not browsing the internet and viewing videos. Too many to list and no real recommendation so just search Flash web browser on the app store and try it out. The only other option I have done in the past was to remote into my home computer from my iPad and open a browser on it and controlled it via my iPad.

The small web page issue you mention has nothing to do with Apple or their products. The website is coded to reduce and change the website based on the browser viewing it. Most times you can select a link at the bottom to view the page in full desktop mode. so the page is converted to reduce and change on purpose because your screen is not big enough to view on a mobile device. Only way to really fix it is to select the option at the bottom of the page to view full desktop version of the page. Some websites are not coded to convert for mobile browsing and some are, so it all depends on the site you are at. Hope that explains it.

Windows File Sharing And The Dangers Of NetBIOS

NetBIOS is a Windows File and Print Sharing protocol, and it uses TCP/UDP ports 135, 137,138, and 139.

* TCP/135 - RPC: This port is potentially quite dangerous. Remote Procedure Calls are requests from one machine to another for service. The RPC service acts as something of a facilitator, or go-between, between the client making the request and the machine being asked for service, i.e. a request is made to this "end-point mapper service" and then a port is allocated dynamically to the service being requested. This is similar to the RPC functionality found in the Unix world, and although it's not technically a "file sharing" port, it ties heavily into Windows networking in general.

* UDP/137 - NetBIOS Name Service: This port is used to attain name resolution for NetBIOS. Think of it as NetBIOS's version of DNS or ARP. It's simply a way to use something you have, make a query, and get something you want in return. For NetBIOS it's from a NetBIOS name to an IP, for DNS it's a DNS name to IP, and for ARP it's from IP to hardware address.

* UDP/138 - NetBIOS Datagram Service: This port primarily allows the SMB browser service to populate the browse lists seen when using "Network Neighborhood".

* TCP/139 - NetBIOS Session Service: This is perhaps the most known Windows port of all, as it is used to transfer files over TCP. This is both the port that NULL Sessions are established over and the port that file and printer sharing takes place on. If you are considering restricting access to ports on your Windows machine, this one needs to be on the top of the list.

NOTE: By disabling NetBIOS, all existing file shares must be shared using the IP address, rather than the NetBIOS Name, or else the share won't work.

How to disable NetBIOS in Windows 2000:

  1. open Windows Explorer
  2. Right click on My Network places and select properties
  3. Click Internet protocol TCP/IP and select properties
  4. Click on Advanced and then WINS
  5. Select Disable NetBIOS over TCP/IP and click ok
  6. Restart your computer
  7. If Windows displays "This connection has an empty ... " message, ignore it and click ok
How to disable NetBIOS in Windows 95/98/ME
  1. open Windows Explorer
  2. Right click on My Network places and select properties
  3. Select Internet protocol TCP/IP and click Properties
  4. In NetBIOS, clear "NetBIOS over TCP/IP" check box and click OK.
How to disable NetBIOS in Windows Vista/7
  1. Click Start, and then click Network. (Or you can click Start, type ncpa.cpl into the search box, and press ENTER).
  2. Click on the Network and Sharing Center, and then click Manage Network Connections.
  3. Right click on the Local Area Connection or the connection you are using, and then select Properties.
  4. Select the Internet Protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4)
  5. Click the Advanced button under the General tab.
  6. Click the WINS tab.
  7. Click the Disable NetBIOS Over TCP/IP button.
  8. Click Ok.
  9. Restart your computer.

I want to return to my old yahoo mail not beta I dont like it at all if i can not get it retured back i will change from yahoo

After switching to beta Yahoo wouldn't allow you to return to the classic version of yahoomail. However there is a way to get through this. Turn off the Javascript of your browser. ___________________________________

In case you dont know how to turn the javascript off:
Internet Explorer: tools > internet options > security. In security click "custom level" > disable Active Scripting in the scripting section.

Firefox: tools > options > content > click on "disable Javascript".

Google Chrome: Wrench button (on the upper right of the browser) > options > Under the Hood > Content Settings button > select "Do not allow any site to run JavaScript" in the Javascript section.
___________________________________

After disabling your javascript try to reload the page of your yahoomail. Then You will be asked to enable javascript or switch back to an older version of yahoomail (located at the lower part). Of course click the option that says return to an older version of yahoomail which is the last option. After that you will be brought back to your yahoomail classic view.
After doing this, DO NOT FORGET TO TURN YOUR JAVASCRIPT ON since there are functions in yahoomail that required javascript.

In order the save photo from the mobile browser, all you need to do is long hold on the image and a pop-up menu should appear giving you the following options:

Select the first option to save it to your phone. It will save to a Downloads folder on your SD card. You can easily view them through the Albums app.
