SOURCE: Help in Removing Frigidaire Smooth Cooktop Burner

What holds the spring assembly onto the bar assembly is just two small prongs. Use a pliers on the end that protrudes through the bar, squeezing the prongs together, and it should come out fairly easily.

SOURCE: I need to replace a door seal, Hotpoint Ultima WF860

Push the top cover to the rear and lift at the same time, then ease the control panel to the right, you will not get control panel off with the top cover in place.
This will then give you access to the front panel scews, located at the top and bottom of the panel. remove the door seal ,and door lock, then lift the front panel away.

There should be screws on the back side of the top panel that come out. Then the panel will slide out so that you can access the front controls.

Frigidaire gas range20164 top burners/When rite front burner is turned on/ gas will come/igniter will not click /but can lite with a match ?

I suggest you lift off the burner ring and ensure there is no foreign matter in the area of the igniter. Observe whether the is a spark when you press the button to light the gas. It is possible that the ignition plug has failed, therefor you will need to purchse a replacement.

HOW TO TAKE OFF THE TOP BLACK PLATE ON MY FRIGADAIRE RANGE PLGS389ECC

Good Morning Bob,

I see that you are having trouble with your burners and are looking for instructions on how to take off the black plate on your Frigidaire range, model# PLGS389ECC. First, I do suggest, that for these kind of repairs, you contact a local authorized technician. Second, I don't necessarily have instructions on how to take that plate off, but I have listed below, a link that will give you a parts breakdown of your range.

Rotisserie burner has to be lit with a match and will not stay on by itself. I have to push control knob in, even after it is hot. Also looking to replace igniter for left burner. Thanks.

From what you are describing, it sounds like your rotisserie burner may have a bad thermocouple. You can order the parts from Viking, the igniter for the left main burner will require you to remove the front panel to replace, but is fairly straight forward after that. To replace the thermocouple, you will have to fish it down from the burner and under the grill to behind the front panel, not hard, just time consuming.

Need help re: replacing igniter of Gas Grill

If it is like mine, you have to remove the front control panel on the side burner and the front of the side shelf. Remove four screws behind the fronts below the shelf/burner and then you will have access to the screws to remove the main control panel. Be careful with all the hoses and gas piping. If the electronic ignitor is melted like mine(i am on #3), you have more problems than the igniter. I had to replace the burners and the gas valves to stop the flame from "backing up" into this area. Hope this helps.

How to replace maintop (cooktop) frigidaire oven FGFG79GBA

To remove the main top first remove the grates,
burner caps and burners. Using a ¼” socket
wrench or nut driver remove the mounting
screws at each burner orifice assembly.

Insert a putty knife or similar tool between the
main top and manifold panel near the outside
of the front corner. Push the putty knife toward
the rear to release the maintop mounting clip.
Repeat for both sides.

When the mounting clips are released the front
edge of the cooktop can be lifted. Make sure
that the orifice assembly does not bind in the
cooktop when raising the top to remove it from
the range.

Lift the front of the cooktop and pull forward to
disengage the back edge from the rear hinge
bracket. The cooktop can now be replaced by
reversing the previous steps.

Replacing control valve/burner valve switch

This just started to happen to ours too. It's because you can't get let water get into the valve/switch assembly. Ours got so much water in there that it was making huge sparks and flames which charred up the switches. You may have to replace the whole 5-burner igniter switch assembly. I think it's part number 74010753. To access, remove 2 screws under the front of stovetop. open Top oven door to access. remove the 2 screws that hold the gas valve assembly. Remove 2 screws out of each burner assembly. Remove the green grounding wire on the right hand corner of stove top. The stove top will come off revealing the 5 white igniter switch assembly which is all wired together in parallel. Remove the large metal panel on the rear. There are two wires that are off the 5-burner switch assembly that you unplug. Replace this whole assembly and the problem should be fixed. Hope this helps
