You did not include the specific model number of your shaver, so it is difficult to answer for your particular model. Most shavers will unlock by holding in the on/off button for 5 seconds

SOURCE: Braun battery replacement

Unfortunately this is almost impossible. The batteries are part of the circuit board, and Braun only authorize their service agents to replace the whole unit, and my local agent found that it had been discontinued. If you still want to have a go, two screws are hidden beneath the two grey plastic caps either side of the charging socket on the underside of the shaver which can be prized off quite easily. Once you have removed the screws, the small plastic section comes off. Now you can slide the outer casing off. A thin black cover at the back can then be unclipped, revealing the circuit board and batteries. The whole unit simply lifts out and would be easy to replace if you could find one! Rplacing the batteries would be far more difficult and risky. Good luck.

SOURCE: I have the same problem with my Braun 7570 as the Jan.8, 2008 writer about the 7526 or 7680 shaver. The blue button came off but the shaver still works

This button wears out or just fails with time, but is replaceable.

Braun 7526 Syncro Body Housing with Trimmer
$12.99, Fits Model: 7526, Type: 5493, Includes back case, front case with trimmer/switch, side grips and bottom 'plug', http://shaveroutlet.com/.

To disassemble the 7000 Series Braun shaver.

Disassembly of the 7000 Braun shaver is basically the same as the 8000 series Braun shaver listed below. The 7000 is actually easier to disassemble as the plastic is much thicker and the bottom socket cover pops right off as there are less tabs and they are bigger.

To disassemble the 8000 Braun Series shaver.

Remove the plastic cover on the bottom that covers the corded socket. Be careful, there are a total of two tabs on the short sides and four very small tabs on the long sides. I usedmy fingernail to create a space big enough to insert the corner of a credit card in the center of the long side opposite the blue light indicator, then gently removed the cover. Using a screwdriver could damage the plastic.

The two sides then pop off, they only fit on their respective side when replacing. Don't lose the two small black seals on the top of each side piece.

There are a total of four screws holding the body together. Remove the screws, using the proper flat blade or torx screwdriver. The shaver will then split into. You can then remove the the Motor Drive Unit and the separate circuit board with the batteries.

This would also be a good time to clean the goo buildup from around the shaver head.

Assembly is the reverse of above. The Motor Unit will only fit in one way, there is a flat side and a angular side. Be sure the pin for the trimmer is placed in its proper hole, or it won't extend.

SOURCE: Braun 5614 rechargeable cordless shaver light flickers

Your batteries are starting to degrade, but the good news is they're still holding a charge for a week, so you really don't need to rush to replace them at this point.

The flickering of the charged indicator is normal, as the shaver is still plugged in and the batteries are fully charged. The flickering is due to the batteries chemicals breaking down, and as such, the charge cycle keeps "topping" them off while it's still plugged in.

When you finally aren't able to get a decent amount of cordless operation and run times from your shaver, then you'll want to get them replaced, whether you decide to do that yourself or have it done by a professional service center, is up to you.

Here's a reference for your future use. www.electricshaver.com carries replacement (factory OEM) batteries for most brands of shavers and they also will provide the repair/replacement service for you, should you decide you don't want to do it yourself. You can also give them a call at 1-888-476-1785 and request a price quote, etc.

Anyway, your shaver is working fine and all you need to do is make sure you're not letting the shaver stay plugged in and charging constantly for more than a day, since any "extra" chargind isn't doing anything except keeping the batteries at a constant state of charge. Heat is a byproduct of charging and discharging any battery and as such, you want to allow for a cool down period before recharging them.

I tend to use my shaver until it is almost completely discharged before recharging it. By doing this, you can get the longest working life out of your batteries before you'll have to replace them.

Hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

SOURCE: The braun 5510 shaver.. rechargeable or not

If working properly, model 5510 will work either from the internal rechargeable batteries or directly from the cord. If your shaver no longer recharges, it needs to have the rechargeable batteries replaced.

SOURCE: Braun 7570 shaver won't switch off!

Most likely, the switch mechanism is broken inside and will need to be replaced. This part comes with the outer housing of the shaver and is available at shaveroutlet.com. See link below

http://shaveroutlet.com/braun-syncro-body-housing-select-models-p-811.html

To open the shaver body, you will first need to gently pry off the 'cap' on the bottom that surrounds the hole where the cord plugs in. Once removed the side grips will pull off revealing 4 screws. Remove screws to take off back cover and access insides. Inner parts simply lift out. Reassemble in reverse order

Braun 9095cc shaver - can't deactivate the travel lock

I have the same travel lock problem with my series 5000. Also, I am having a similar problem with my other braun, the easy clean braun 5000, though it may still be intermittently used. I suspect that the travel lock problem is a braun common defect. After my braun razors die out, I'm finished with braun razors.

The top will not stay down for charging

This is a common problem with the clean/charge base for model 7526. The mechanism inside is broken. You can replace the upper housing that includes the locking arm or you can replace the whole system. Both options are available at shaveroutlet.com. See links below

My Braun 7526 will no longer clip into the razor for cleaning and charging.

If the arm on the charging stand no longer locks down into place to charge the shaver, you will need to replace the arm or you can replace the entire charging unit. You will find both items at shaveroutlet.com. The on/off mechanism on my dads braun 6520 is stuck. It won't turn on.

Hello running girl, Have you looked to see if maybe the "lock-off" feature hasn't been engaged?

If you look at the razor, right above the on/off and sideburn trimmer selector, you should see a full bar that goes all the way across the shaver. Push this up toward the shaving head to unlock the razor and the shaver should work fine again.

This is a Braun design feature there to help prevent the shaver from accidently getting turned on when packed in your luggage, etc. and running down a fully charged shaver.

There is nothing like reaching for what you thought was a charged and ready to use shaver and discovering that it got switched on and ran the batteries down.

Other than having the lock off feature engaged, I can't think of anything that would cause the switch not to turn on, unless the shaver was dropped and damaged. If that's the case, you will want to have it looked at to make sure the printed circuit board hasn't been broken, etc.

Typically this isn't something that most folks can undertake a diagnois and repair, so I'd suggest you contact www.electricshaver.com or call them at 1-888-476-1785 to get an estimate for repairing it.

Hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!
