2150 L is likely 25 to 30 years old. The first Riccar vacuums were made in Japan. Your was likely made in Taiwan. Production of most models was brought to St. James, MO 20 years ago. Filters, bags and some parts are still available from your local Riccar dealer, or from ThatVacGuy.com

it has a thermal fuse that shuts it down if it over heats. Check the hose , wands and floor tool for blockage and check your bag and filters as well.

Suggest you check the wheels to see if they are moving freely. Also check the beater brush to see that it is moving freely. Be sure the belt has not broken. If it has, replace with a new one. Also take the time to clean the beater brush of any debris and spray a little WD40 on both ends of the beater brush axle.
the vacuum is about 20 years old. i have the same one. i got it when i got married 20 years ago. mine still works except i somehow lost the part that goes on after you put the belt on. Does yours have a black rubber ring at the end of the belt?
