Miele s8310 Hello, my vacuum Miele s8310 does not start. It just shows orange light on program for a second and then stops. The engine does not start. I tried cleaning it, changing all the filtres and changing bag. Do you think it has something to do with the engine or with the cord?

Will it power up without the hose attached? If it does then you have a clogged hose. If not, there is a circuit board by the motor that may be bad.

Could have a problem with the motor, there also is a speed control circuit board mounted by the motor that may be starting to go bad.

could be your retractable cord assembly's contacts..

push the power on while pulling out the cord. see if it tries to start.

Usually this is a problem with the electric circuits in the hose / handle.

if the service agent states that it is not cost effective to repair then trust that advice
They will know of the difficulty to get it apart , the lack of spares when you do break it apart and the safety risk that is posed by repairs by untrained people
many wholesale cleaner shops have regular sales where the price of a new unit will be half the repair cost of an old unit

Hi There,
I have to say i do warranty repairs for Miele and own VacuumSpot.com.au and I have actually never heard of this before either. The miele SBD285 is basically a good quality 35mm floor tool have you tried using a different type of tool. Wessell Werk (german manufacturer) make tools for Nilfisk, Electrolux etc make a range of tools and you may find that a different one will work perfectly for you. I am not sure where you ive but highly likely your local vacuum store will sell a version like this one which is truly excellent

Miele power nozzle quits after 10 seconds of working.

Even though the brush is spinning, you probably need to replace the belt

because it is stretched. It is probably slipping on the beater bar.

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. I am not familiar with the light system on the Miele Revolution 5000 Power Plus
But it has something to do with the electronic hose assm or the circuitry in the vacuum itself. I have listed the factory phone # listed below for your further information.
