SOURCE: I need to download the driver software for my printer as i don't have the cd.

It appears that Lexmark dont offer a driver forthe Z55. Looks like mine's going in the bin then!!!

Drivers and Downloads - Lexmark

pop in to the above and select your o/s etc and download fresh drivers .


uninstall any other drivers you may have installed for your printer clean them off and try a fresh.

They have the drivers for Windows XP, Vista etc.

Lexmark x5470 drivers won't install with cd or thru Lexmark on line. Using windows vista 32 bit.
Make sure to uninstall the old Lexmark driver before installing the downloaded driver. It should automatically create a print object under "Printers" after installing the driver.

How to install a Lexmark printer when the software setup CD is lost
Lexmark does not distribute replacement install disk for all models.

Contact Lexmark here, to see if the disk for your printer is available.

If you do not have the disk you must download the software from Internet, follow instructions below,

Click here:Official Lexmark Drivers and Software

A web page will open, follow instructions, select model, select operative system etc., and click on download .
Chose to download the file in my documents when asked.
After downloading, find the file,double click on the file ,then if you get in troubles, follow the instructions below to reset and reinstall drivers:

  • Unplug printer USB.
  • Go to control panel >> installed printers in Windows and remove (delete ) any installed printer from printer list.
  • Download driver from website, or use the disk and run the install file.
  • Follow driver installation wizard.
  • Plug back printer when prompted from installation wizard.
Note:some printerdoes not work on Vista, if you do not find any driver download for Vista on your model page, that means your model is not Vista compatible.

I am trying to install my lexmark x5470 to my laptop but it is not listed
To install your printer do as follows:

A) If you have the CD that came with the printer:
  • run the CD to install the driver and the software;
  • follow the installation instructions
  • do not connect the printer to the computer prior to installing the driver/software; do it only after the installation process is concluded or if and when the install wizard instructs you do do so.

B) If you don't have a CD:
  • read this FAQ: How to Install a Downloaded Driver
  • download the correct driver for your system from LEXMARK:
    Downloads for Lexmark X5470 printer
    Note that here are four different drivers for your printer: one for MAC systems, and three for Windows systems (Windows Vista 32, Windows Vista 64 and Windows XP/2000). Make sure you download the right one. To access the Windows drivers, click on the 'Microsoft' tab.
  • install the driver following the instructions on the FAQ above
  • do not connect the printer to the computer prior to installing the driver/software; do it only after the installation process is concluded or if and when the install wizard instructs you do do so.

Can't find disc
I suggest emailing lexmark and telling them u need a disc for a Lexmark X2550 printer. Maybe tell em yours didnt come with one when u bought it and be firm...or you can continue to try and download it from the internet.

How do i install printer?
Put the disc that came with the printer in your cd rom drive and it should install the software then follow the on screen instructions nb make sure the printer is switched off and not connectedto your pc before you begin.

Just Connect it to the computer using the USB cable.......... If u have a CD u can just insert it and install it...... If u donot have a CD.......... Link: http://downloads.lexmark.com/perl/downloads/downloads.cgi Just click on the Above Link and select ur Operating System and download the drivers...... After Downloading the software u can just double click on the downloaded drivers and install the Printer....... Thanku....
