Is this a flaw and I do not see a on off switch anywhere!!

There are a couple of fuses in that power supply. But if it is a 412 or an F12 most likely you have developed cracks in the solder connections of that particular LVPS.
I would recommend replacing the LVPS.
Roughly a 250 dollar price on that power supply.

Try the manufacturers web site, you can normally find all the information you could require
SOURCE: RCA 36' tube tv won't turn on
possible that a fuse blew while transferring tv, most like to happen despite care in handling if tv was on for a while, kind of like moving a light bulb that is hot and suddenly filament breaks when you move the bulb slightly. Other than that I'd say it's a good time to get a new tv just in time too for the digital transition.
SOURCE: how do we turn off the POWER SAVING MODE on the monitor screen?
Try going into your Start Menu then going into your control panel...then clicking on your "power options"....then switching the options to 'always on'..if this does not work..(as it seems you may not be seeing this because the monitor is in power saving mode) try fiddling with the setup option on your monitor and find a possible powersaving mode enabled function and disable it. every monitor is different so I couldn't really help you here...if this doesn't yield results try another monitor to see if it's the monitor having the problems or the computers video card...the video card could very well be the culprit...

hi I am Vortash .. burning smells usually mean Power supply or line output .. flyback problems .. this is probably one of those jobs only an engineer should look at .. voltages on the line can exceed 400 volts and are highly dangerous the line output from the transformer depending on the type of tube can be up to 25,000 volts .. so best leave this one to the proffesionals Regards Vortash
