How to put a book on hold and then go do something else on the tablet

The electronics have gone south and are shutting down to protect whatever is left of unit.

These units have gotten so reasonable in price that repairs nowadays are usually not cost effective.

Don't delete, just select off in settings menu

Try this: Turn tablet off. Hold down volume up button and press power on button - continuing to hold both buttons down until the screen says something like "booting in recovery mode" (then touch the android robot image) or gives you options to do a factory reset. Do a factory reset and then reboot tablet normally. Be aware that a factory reset will wipe all user data from the tablet. Next time I would write down your selected password and put the paper in your wallet or purse.....

Look in your tablet instruction book for a procedure called 'hard reset' or a location for a small hole on the edge or back of the tablet where you can push in something non-conductive, like a toothpick to press a hidden reset switch. Without having a make and model for your tablet, it is hard to determine what exactly to do because each make and model is different. You talk about pressing the power and low volume buttons- are you holding them both in simultaneously for 10 seconds? This might be the reset procedure for your tablet, but that is not clear. One last thing to try is to hold in the power button for 10 seconds and see if you get a power off screen. If you get this, try powering off the tablet and then restarting. Also make sure the keyboard isn't on caps lock when you type your password.

Put your finger on the icon for the book, and slide left (or right) until a "delete" button appears.

Or, put your finger on the icon, and hold it there until the 'X' ("delete") appears.

Perform a factory reset instrutions in back of hand book.

I tried numerous attempts to fix this problem, including a re-format of the tablet. In the end, I had to trash it. The cord was tested and was fine, the plug was fine, it must be something in the power mechanism of the tablet that failed.

Do a google search on the make and model number and put the word manual after it.

DRM is digital rights management (copyrighted), the tablet doesnt support copyrighted .EPUB books, you would need to put a .EPUB without a DRM on it.

You can put eBooks on the tablet by using the Aldiko eBook app and your PC to put books in the library.

1) Download an ePub file to your computer. Use Google Books or another eBook store to get the file. Check out http://books.google.com
2) To transfer the ePub file, hook up the tablet to the PC.
3) First mount your USB Storage (Internal), from your PC go the removable disk, you should see the ebooks folder, create a sub folder and name it import.
4) Copy your epub file to the import folder.
5) Next turn off USB storage(Internal).
6) Launch Aldiko, click on Menu which should popup a menu with option such as import. Click on import. It will start to scan your sdcard for any epub files.
7) When the import is finished, click on Bookshelf to refresh. For some reason it just doesn't see any epub files from the USB Storage (ie from the MicroSDCard)
