My Necchi sewing machine. I can’t seem to adjust the stitch length

Doing a google search for the brand plus model number for a user guide or YouTube videos might find what you are looking for. That it is a Necchi doesn't supply the model number and of course models differ. On a 537L model, the large knob on the right side about halfway between the top and bottom of the machine adjusts stitch length. The numbers may range from 0 to 5 with 0 meaning no length and 5 being the largest length. Tension, stitch length and stitch width are all controlled by small dials on the front of the Necchi machine. If your stitch length is set to 0, the sewing machine will not feed the fabric. Incorrect tension will cause poor stitch quality. You must consult you machine's user manual to know how to adjust the tension as the procedure differs among machines. Here is a general guide, however:

How i can adjust the stitch ?

A zigzag can be adjusted by the width and length of the stitch. If you start with a straight stitch it is easy to see what the length of the stitch will be. The width is adjustable. By adjusting the two together you can have a large choice of quality stitches.

How can I adjust the stitch length on a Singer 111W155?

To adjust the stitch length, press down on the plunger on the base of the machine. It's to the right of the needle and towards the back. While holding the plunger down, rotate the pulley until the plunger enters a notch in the the adjustable feed eccentric cam (visible on near the center back on the bottom of the machine). Then adjust the pulley forwards or backwards until the desired number of stitches per inch is visible in the stitch length window to the left of the pulley. Then release the plunger.

See page 14 of the manual which is available from Singer here: http://parts.singerco.com/IPinstManuals/111W152_W153_W154_W155.pdf . It's page 8 of the PDF. You will also need to look at Figure 2 on page 4. Figure 5 on page 4 shows the cam (J1) that the plunger enters when you can adjust the stitch length.

I hope this helps.

My brother pc-2800 stitch length button won't light up so I can't adjust the stitch length. Is it worth having fixed?

you might call a repair shop and tell them the problem and ask
them how much it would cost to have the machine repaired that
way you can decide.

The machine isn't making stitches. It's threaded correctly. I have been sewing leather recently and it's been acting up since then. I have cleaned the bobbin area. And have adjusted the tension...

Hello

Adjust the Stitch Length;

To make longer stitches, set the stitch length to a higher number. On many sewing machines, four is the longest possible stitch length and two is average.

To make shorter stitches, set the stitch length to a lower number. At a zero, the sewing machine may not actually make stitches, since the needle will go up and down in one place.

Cut a small scrap of fabric, preferably the same type you want to sew with.

Sew a few test stitches on the scrap. Examine the stitches to make sure they're the length you want.

Adjust the stitch length again as needed.
