Hi how can I replace my Brocken telescopic antenna on my radio ?

Many boombox antennas are attached by a small screw through the pivot point. This is usually a #1 Phillips screw. Some do not have a swiveling antenna; for these you have to remove the back of the case to get at the attachment screw. Keep the screw; it's guaranteed to fit when you attach the new antenna.

The hard part is finding a replacement. If you have the pivoting/swiveling antenna, the Radio Shack 28" Replacement Telescoping Antenna 270-1405 ($5.99 online) will probably work. You might even be able to use it for a non-pivoting antenna that telescopes into the inside of the case.

See if this fits the bill. Otherwise stop in at a radio shack store. They sometimes have these n stock.

You should be able to get a new telescopic antenna from any good electronics store (including online) and it is very easy to change.

All you need is a screwdriver kit with a choice of bits. Take out the screw, pull out the old antenna and you will also find 2 brass washers as well.

When you replace the antenna, put it in place then fit one brass washer at either side (it may be a bit tricky - I always use a jewellers type screw driver at this point) and when all is aligned put the screw back in and tighten it up!

Unfortunately, your description of the problem means that your radio must be taken apart to be fixed. Replacement antennas can be found purchased. It would require installing the new antenna and most likely soldering it to the broken wire. Do you have a picture?

hi,if it is a telescopic type,loosen the lock on top of antennae,radio on,let the rod comes out,insert the rod,off your radio,let the rod go in free,ty

if the telescopic antenna is broken you cant solder it, but you can buy a replacement antenna,some scanners have an antenna that just screws into the circuit board through a hole in the top of the case,or you can get a telescope antenna that will attach to antenna jacks on the back of the set if it has those, which im sure that model does. Antenna jacks came come in several types , one is called a BNC which just pushes in and turn about half a turn to lock in place,also some scanners have the type of jack like the back of a car radio, with those you just push them in and you can find telescopic antennas with the auto type plug at a 90 degree angle that will work fine.If you need more help let me know
