Can a inside the hull transducer be used as a transom transducer.

You could use it but you may not get accurate readings, best to get a transom transducer of find a way of mounting the one you have inside the hull?

Just got an Eagle Fishmarkde pathfinder need help w/mounting transducer to motor at end of shaft. If that is possible?

Hi Mike
The transducer (depending on which one you have) should be mounted to the hull of the boat. If a transom mount, at the back of the boat of course and if a through-hull or in-hull ducer in an area that provides good contact with the water at all times.

You shouldn't mount the transducer on the motor.
I was unable to find a reference anywhere to the Fishmark DE.

Transducer is throwing up a large Rooster tail.I installed it to instructions

Might help to tell us what kind of boat - deep V hull 22 ft.? bass boat with shallow V hull? Some need the transducer closer to the centerline of the vessel while others do better more outboard, Naturally they need to be flush with the hull no matter where they are located. Depending on the transducer, you could also try properly mounting it inside the vessel near the transom. Good new is you are getting good info from it. Cheers Pete

I was told that the Uniden QT-206HP depth sounder will not work thru an alunium hull is this true or false

Hi!

The transducer for your depth gauge will not work through an aluminum hull. A drilled through-hull transducer or a transom mount transducer are your options here.

Just in case you require it, your Owners Manual can be viewed/downloaded at:
http://ca.binnacle.com/pdf/Uniden-QT206-manual.pdf

Hope this helps..

Does this transducer mount in the floor of the boat,or on the bottom of the hull?

Hi!

This transducer requires a hole to be drilled in the bottom of the hull and the unit installed from the outside, using a caulk/adhesive such as 3M 4200 or 5200. Nice choice. Furuno is a good manufacturer!

Hope this helps!

Can not get clear reading of bottom when travellling over 9 knots

Your in hull ducer is getting turbulence. (in hull or not) A transducer will stop working is the tiniest cabitation or air bubble interferes. If possible, relocate the ducer. If you have a transom mounted ducer, try angling the leading edge up. This is a 90 % chance caused by turbulence on ducer. The other possibility, al;though remote is that you alternator or ignition system is interfering after a certain RPM on the motor.
Try first to manually gain the FCV620. You will always need to manual gain set the unit if you have an in hull ducer.

My furuno depth finder gives me crazy depth readings after i go over 10knots..whats the problem?

Turbulence on the transducer is almost certain. If transom mounted, **** it slightly deeper aft and ensure that the leading edge is not exposed. If through hull, call me 847-746-0100

Furuno sounder trandecer problems

the leading edge of the ducer should be higher than the aft portion. The leading edge must not be below the bottom of the transom. To determine if it is turbulence or radiated interference, put the boat in neutral and run motor up in RPM, if it fails then, with boat stationary, then proximity to motor is a problem and you should buy and in-hull ducer. glueing the transom ducer may or may not work well.
