did this only happen after you changed the cart or is this why you tried a new cart? if it only happened after you changed it try a new on you could have gotten a bad one. some times they do not connect up with the pins inside the machine
You didn't say what printer manufacturer or model number If you have simply refilled the cartridge, you'll need to replace the smart chip on he cartridge as well, or reset a sensor actuator, depending on model. If you bought a refilled or compatible cartridge, take it back for a replacement.
Prepare a new cartridge of the color (K, C, M or Y) you wish to replace.
Ensure that the printer is on with all covers closed, and that the Toner Low warning, Sleep, or Ready status is displayed.
Press the Right arrow button to display the menu.
Press the Up or Down arrow button to scroll through the options until Reset Menu is highlighted:
Press the Right arrow button once, this will enter the reset menu as shown below:
Press the Up or Down arrow button to scroll through the options until Change Toner X (where X is K, C, M or Y) is highlighted for the toner you wish to change:
Press the Right arrow button to start the removal procedure. The printers panel will read Please wait, then after a short delay the printer should display a red error light and the message Replace Toner X, where X is the relevant toner cartridge:
Open cover D.
Hold the toner cartridge knob and tilt it toward you.
Remove the empty toner cartridge from the printer.
Take the protective materials off of the new cartridge, and gently shake the new toner cartridge a few times.
Take the new toner cartridge out of its package, and remove the plastic protective cover from the toner cartridge.
Insert the new cartridge into the printer.
Close the toner cartridge cover.
Close cover D.
If you need to change another toner cartridge, repeat the above procedure from Step 1.
