When replacing the glass on the front of a Frigidaire oven what do you use to secure the glass to the frame

You can buy the new glass yourself and do it, as an easy task. Or you just called a Figidaire service tech. You will need the model number and you don't tell us :>D

The double-glass is held down by the inner framework, which secures with fairly hefty Philips screws.
These screws and frame can become baked on over years of fat / oil being dried and hardened into a shellac-type 'superglue'.
Lay door horizontal, or as open as it will go, pour olive oil over screws and brush edges of window and frame.
Leave to soak (unheated), at least overnight.
The interior of the door has glass wool heat insulation.
Apply rubber gloves and long sleeves if the spiky glass wool fibers irritate your skin (like mine!!).
Unscrew frame, lift glass out.
Electrical stockists which sell stove parts (may) possibly have a match, otherwise search the web, manufacturer, etc.

If you are trying to clean between the inner (heat shield) glass and the outer glass (safety glass for looks), you may not have to remove the whole door. On most models, the outer glass is either integral to the handle and frame or at least is trapped by the handle and frame. Open the door and look inside. There should be either two or four screws right at the top that hold the handle and frame assembly in place. You may find that when you take these off, the handle slides off, and the glass can either slide up or the whole frame will rock outward. Be VERY careful, this is safety glass and shatters into 2mmx4mm pieces easily if you bump it.

If the whole door has to come off, most new models don't even need screws taken out... you just pry up the two metal tabs next to the hinges, and it unlocks and you slide the door up off the hinges. See the link for instructions if you need to remove the door and take it apart. This covers most oven doors.

You didn't say what brand or model but here is a link to a youtube video for a Frigidaire oven, Other brands and models on youtube too. You will probably be able to get a replacement kit from sears parts direct if you have the brand and model number. Or an appliance parts store or ebay.

It isn't that tough to change the glass assembly. Most of the Frigidaire have 4 screws that hold the front of the door to the inner part- sandwiching the glass in between. It is only sold as a unit- 2 glass pieces, assembled with an aluminum frame. Call All brands Appliance parts at 508-587-7100 and they'll get the part out to you. (Tell them Greasy Wheels sent ya, they'll take good care of you.) The most common reason the glass breaks, is a scratch in the glass. Sometimes it's just a dragged pan, other times it's from cleaning it with a sharp instrument. Don't do that....

To replace the door glass do the following:

0 Check if there is a hinge stop bracket located at the hinge point of entry on the oven, in that case remove it.
1 remove the oven door by pulling it up and removing from the the hinges. If glass is broken , then secure glass with tape. Have a table with a cloth on top ready to lay the door.
2 Remove the outer screws , starting from lower side of the panel.
3Removethe inner screws. Keep all set of screws ordered, and take note of theorder you remove them. You will follow reverse order in reassembly.
4 the frame will be free now,
5 Remove the external glass panel and leave it in a safe place.
6 Replace the inner glass.
7 Clean outer glass and metal door, re-assemble it and mount it back

Usually short instructions come with the glass. Just be careful about the wires not to pinch them tween the new glass and the frame. Use the type sealant they recommend.
