SOURCE: mouse is sticking and not moving

With the computer on try to unplug it from the computer, wait a few seconds and plug it back in. Many times this will do it. If not, unplug it and then plug it into a different usb port. The computer will think it is a new device and reinstall the drivers for it in that port. It's a simple solution ,but works many times. Good kuck.

Connects and clicks just doesnt move the curser

I presume you can see the motion sensing red LED or laser beam shining under the mouse. If not, that has gone bad, and it would probably be more economical to replace the mouse than to attempt a repair.

If the light is on under the mouse, try cleaning the lenses (both LED and photoreceptor) with a cotton swab dampened with isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol). Don't scrub, just wipe the optics gently until clean.

Go into the device manager and go through the list until you see the mouse, check box to the left and right click, if the pad is disabled enable it, be careful not choose the external mouse.

How do I unstick my curser. I have re-booted, shut off and restarted the computer. I can not get it to move at all but the curser will move if use external mouse

You should have two buttons either side of your power button,
one of which (the right hand side i believe) controls your wireless connection, and if pressed your notebook will not be able to pick any wireless connections up.
The left hand side button controls your touch-pad device, possibly you have pressed this button without realising and it has disabled your mouse. Simply hit it again to resume the function of the mouse.

New mouse , curser not moving properly

Are you using a mouse pad? At work I see this all the time. Sometimes the user is using a mouse pad that throws off the sensor on the mouse(if you're using one with a laser or optical sensor).

Try utilizing a new pad first and report back if that helps. Sorry, but its hard to identify the issue without more clarification.

Thank you.

Curser will not move

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

If you are using the touch pad and the cursor will not move, you may want to try and use a mouse. The touch pad on your computer may have worn out. If the mouse works, it may be your pad.

Please check to make sure that touch pad button is on. If the mouse will not move the cursor, your drivers may have been corrupted and you have to download new drivers after uninstalling the old one. Which one you download will depend on what type of computer you have.

Thank you for asking FixYa!

When I boot my notebook up I can't move the curser, it is stuck on one person to sign on, the curser is not positioned on that persons name either.

TRy plugging in an external USB mouse. If the mouse is OK then the touch pad has failed.
Check the touch pad driver in the control panel then Device manager.
Hope this helps.
