I have the same problem. Call back and ask for a 2909 handset tab. I think they are the same size. I looked at one last night.

How do you change the battery on a Bang & Olufsen Beocom 5 handset?

To change the battery on a Bang & Olufsen BeoCom 5 handset, you will need to follow these steps:
  1. Remove the battery cover: On the back of the handset, locate the small rectangular cover at the bottom of the phone. Press down on the cover and slide it downward to remove it.
  2. Remove the battery: Once the cover is off, you will see the battery. Carefully lift it out of the phone by pulling on the small tab at the bottom.
  3. Install the new battery: Take the new battery and insert it into the phone, making sure the contacts on the battery align with the contacts inside the phone.
  4. Replace the battery cover: Carefully snap the battery cover back into place.
  5. Charge the new battery: After installing the new battery, place the handset on the charging base to charge the battery fully.
Note: Be sure to use only the recommended type of battery for your BeoCom 5 handset, and follow all safety precautions when handling and installing the battery.

KX-TD7696 handsets failing to charge

Most times the connectors are just enough away from contact point. See if you are able to place a flat thin screwdriver to bring the tabs Foward a bit do not over pry as to not break prong. This should work also scrape connectors with same screw driver to bring original copper back

Had to buy a new base for phones and got one phone with new base unit, within phone menus there is a place to Deregister the handset, but I can not locate how to Register the other handsets and nothing...

Hi, If there is not an option for registering the handsets then more than likely it is an automatic function-you may just need to place each handset into the base units cradle to register. Also maybe the base unit has a menu option for registering. I hope this helped, please write back if so and thank you for asking FixYa, Good luck-Prodzilla.

:.. extra handset ..." implies you have another handset. Try the battery from that handset in the "extra." If it works, the replacement battery you bought is defective.
