Soap does not seem to dissolve or clean

The soap in the dishwasher lately has been found intact on dishes, in cups, in baby bottle nipples, everything. It is undissolved. We switched to gel, as the powder dishwasher soap was not dissolving - this does not seem to have fully solved the problem - the dishwasher runs, the soap container is open after the cycle, any ideas?

The soap always lands on the dish closest to the dispenser. I have cleaned the inside of the dishwasher thouroughly, tried every kind of soap under the sun and even hired a company to service our water softener on a monthly basis. Frustrating! It's almost 2008- Rosie Jetson would not be happy if she new I was hand washing all of my dishes!

I am also having issues with the soap not dissolving. It sticks on dishes or it sprays and sticks all over the door. I don't even know what to try to do and fix it! I use gel soap, and it seems the problem is just getting worse. Please help!

Same problem here- Exactly! Soap is all down the inside of the door and the dish in
front of the compartment when the cycle ends.

    I have run CLR, checked
the screen and I ensure that the water is very hot before running the dishwasher.

Same problem here - we find the soap at the bottom of the door undissolved and the dishes in the top rack aren't clean.

I have also had this problem before too and i would suggest that either your pump or drainage tube is blocked. It could also be a solinoid failure in your water intake valve if connected to hot water tap or fuse in thermostat if internally heated. Most dishwashers have service codes displayed by lights/flashing sequences on control panel, with your service manual you can determine the exact fault. If you are machanically minded you can easily give your machine a service but would not attempt it if you don't know what you're doing. You can download copies of your product's service manual through 'manual's online' if you know someone else able to service your machine.

Probably a sticky dispenser door. Run for a few times with the dispenser open and put a tablet in the cultery basket

Your best cleaning option would be to put a tablespoon of citric acid powder in the machine and run it on hot normal load all the way through. The citric acid dissolves much of the gunk that builds up in dishwashers without damagin any of it's components. You can get citric acid powder at your local Target or CVS (Walmart or Home Depot in Canada).

Another thing to think of... if you are using the dishwasher packets, you will have buildup in your machine as the packets are slow to dissolve fully and can cause plug-ups in certain conditions. Using the hot cycle is really the only way to use them effectively. Liquid soap is a much better alternative.

Whirlpool gold dishwasher will turn on but not clean dishes

If it looks like the water is circulating then it's possible that soap build up can cause cleaning problems. Try taking a cereal bowl and filling it with an 8 oz bottle of apple cider vinegar (you want apple cider for the citric acid and you want to put in a bowl because the 1st thing a dishwasher does is drain) then put the bowl on the lower rack and wash nothing but the bowl of vinegar. We have found that the new non phosphate soap is also causing problems we have found that Finish tablets work very well and since they are pre-packaged then there is no risk of too much soap causing problems. If that doesn't help then it's possible that the motor is not turning the spray arm at a high enough speed to circulate the water. Hope this helps.

Asko 1996 appears "dead".....no lights flashing, won't respond to repeatedly pushing on/off button. Some water left in the bottom...siphoned it out, cleaned filters, no blockage there. Almost like it's...

Don't know if this will help, but my dishwasher has a "propeller" device above the top and bottom racks that spins while dispensing the water. If the dishes on either rack are stacked too high (i.e. if even one plate comes in contact with that propeller, keeping it from spinning properly) the dishwasher will go through its full cycle but will not use the soap (soap door will still be closed and soap packet still intact) and will not get the dishes clean.
However, it sounds like you either have a bit of a drain issue as well--or perhaps your dishwasher acts the same way as mine (if that's the case) but ceases to drain as well if blocked.

Dirty cups and baby bottles after dishwasher has been run

Hi and welcome to FixYa I am Kelly. One of the biggest causes of the symptom you describe is that there is a partial blockage of the drain. The blockage areas are most often in the "Air Gap" A device that looks like an inverted 5 oz Dixie cup on the back of the sink with no cone shape. Food particles collect in the very top of that and slow down the drain process. Because of that the dishwasher doesn't completely drain between cycles. So what you get is recycled previous cycle water in the rinse.

Other places where blockages occur are at the garbage disposal side inlet hole. And the last place is under the wash arm tower / mini riser in the pump impeller outlet area. To clean under the lower wash arm riser it requires diassembly and a good memory of how everything came apart / goes back together when your done cleaning.

The dishwasher does not drain and the soap door opens but we are left with just a big clump of wet soap in the cup.

If the DW does not drain the pump could be clogged or has failed. That would also cause the spray arms not to rotate and not circulate water to dissolve the soap or clean the dishes

Dishwasher only a couple of months old. Ran it

The water may not be hot enough. Increase the temperature of the incoming hot water or try this: put the tab in the open soap cup so it will start to dissolve during the pre-wash. Then it will finish dissolving during the main wash. If the dishes get clean using this method you may not have to increase the water temp.
