Navien NCB-240E and did seasonal maintenance. Drained, cleaned filters, etc. Turned water and gas valves back on. Powered up and seemed ok. When running a faucet, water symbol came on and showed burner symbol. After a few seconds I get E.001. looking for suggestions.

The filter light can also indicate a build up of debris and lind behind the heater causing the blower to work harder to push out warm air. It could also indicate that the blower may need a cleaning or going bad. I will suggest that you pull the front cover off of the unit to inspect the blower which is located at the top of the heater. Feel the motor as it is running to see if it is hot. If so, you will probably need to replace it. I may have a used on so let me know. If everything in front looks good, pull the top trim panel off of the heater just behind the filters and inspect for dust. Clean with a shop vac. Hope this helps.

The gas pipe size that heater has to 3/4 pipe size.If you got anything any smaller than that is won't give enough gas.Check the gas psi at the heater. If it's bottle gas you should 11 psi.and natural gasline you need 5psi.
SOURCE: how to correct error code C-7 on my RTG-74PVN Rheem Pronto
I had the same problem and called the manufacturer. The error code C-8 was followed by the number 76. They told me to disconnect the thermostat/digital display from the main unit. This was fairly simple to do by removing the front panel. The unit works steady now without shutting down after a few minutes. The help desk told me that the main circuit board needs to be replaced for the unit to work with the display and that they would mail me one asap. At least we have hot water again.

Often, this is the result of a restriction of exhaust gases. This type of hot water heater must be adequately vented, (per installation specs). I found this out after taking a number of cold showers. :^( Two years later, and still counting, no more problems. :^)

hook up garden hose to faucet @ the bottom of the tank and drain the hose to the outdoors or down a floor drain and open the valve , leaving the cold supply valve on , let it run until it runs clear , this will get rid of some of the sediment deposit that form at the bottom of tank , is the most effective way i know , good luck
