SOURCE: NVIDIA GeForce 8600 : error code 43
It's a hardware problem, Code 43,
A device driver notified the operating system that the device failed.
According to the code, or according to as I understand it, it should be a hardware problem, but I think that it is a software problem
try downloading these drivers, http://www.nvidia.com/object/winvista_x86_180.84_beta.html
check this out as well
http://www.code43.de/page1.html
But if it is a hardware problem, then you might try the following steps
"turn off computer, open the case, and clean it inside, using compressed air.
Remove video card, hold fans blades with a chopstick, or a pencil, and give the fan a nice cleaning, as well.
Clean video card connectors with an eraser. Put it back.
Restart computer."
I hope that helps
Testimonial: "Thanks !!!!!!! I have downloaded the latest driver for my graphic card and i will install that this evening following the step by step."
VOILA! Both my laptop and my desktop PC recognized the LG BD burner again and assigned it a drive letter (like it used to do).
The Code 43 error is one of several Device Manager error codes. The Code 43 error will almost always display in the following way:
"Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)"
Details on Device Manager error codes like Code 43 are available in the Device Status area in the device's properties
