Hold the up and down arrows together for 10 seconds, and press ok. Select 2, for engine. Scroll to 7 or data log, press ok. Scroll to 7807, press ok, execute, exit all the way back to engine, and select 3 to end. Turn printer off and on. Try it. It is a fuser code, and it just might be dirty where the sensor touches.

Just posted this answer somewhere else...you probably touched the little green microchip on the cartridge. The oils in your hand prevent the printer from reading the cartridge. Hope this helps, sucks that you may have to buy a new cartridge though!

Sorry, You do not need Black toner, you need a Black PCU (Photo Conductor Unit).
I have this same printer with the same warning.
Unfortunately, This unit seems to be rather expensive.
Good Luck

Hi,
Thanks for using Fixya.
SC545 is a fuser warm up error.
Try resetting the error by holding the up and down arrows together for 10 seconds, and then press ok. Select 2, for engine. Scroll to 7 or data log, press ok. Scroll to 7807, press ok, execute, exit all the way back to engine, and select 3 to end. Turn printer off and on.
If the error is still there then you will have to take your device for repair.
Good luck and have a nice day.
