  1. Insert a Windows 10 or Windows 8 DVD or a flash drive with the Windows installation files on it, into your computer.

Tip: You can borrow someone else's Windows 10 or Windows 8 disc (or other media) if you need to. You're not installing or reinstalling Windows, you're just accessing Advanced Startup Options - no *********** or license breaking required.
  1. Boot from the disc or boot from the USB device, whatever your situation calls for.
  2. From the Windows Setup screen, tap or click Next.
  3. Tap or click on the Repair your computer link at the bottom of the window.
  4. Advanced Startup Options will start, almost immediately.
  5. Select system restore and press suitable restore point created before windows update and go next to restore the system

My nextbook 10.1 is stuck on logo and wont continue to load windows. How can I Fix it?

Reset this device? In the event that the device freezes, you can force the device to shut down byholding the Power button for 15 seconds.? If the Power button does not reset your device, use the " pinhole reset"button onthe device.
I don’t know if it is possible with a USB with Windows image on it to repair, then it should be a bootable USB and the nextbook should be able from bios to boot from it.

It keeps freezing and will not load screen after reboot

Switch off and restart in "recovery" mode. (Go to settings and scroll down). The problem could be you have apps starting automatically. Once you have got the machine working, download an app that lets you know which one it is. I use "RAM booster". Download also "Clean Master". After all this, go to your apps individually and move them to internal SD. Not all can be moverd, but you'll see the ones that can be as the "move to SD card" will not be greyed out. Finally, go to the play store and uncheck each app that says "update automatically".

If this doesn't work, a factory reset will be necessary. If you do this, save all your apps to your computer then reinstall afterwards.
Best of luck.

E640 REBOOT

Hi John,

I see you mentioned you update IE9 then you now get a blank screen...

If I may ask the blank screen showed up after the update or did it show up after restarting the computer?

If your getting a Blank screen when you boot into windows after the IE9 update, try rebooting then boot into Safemode.

Restart you computer then as soon as you see the Boot screen of you computer keep on Tapping f8 to get a list select safemode, then once it boots into safemode windows will load up in safemode on the issue and you can navigate arround to fix things that went wrong.

click on the Start Button on the lower left of the task bar then, click on Programs, select accessories then select system tools, look for system restore then select the option select a different restore point, on the window you may see a list of restore points hoping your system restore was turned on in the very beginning, once you have selected a restore point keep on clicking next then a warning will show just click next again then it will restart your computer.

System restore allows you to restore to a date where you had windows working fine without any problems so if you can get a restore point before updating IE9 then it is possible that you may be able to fix you windows back the way it was.

I hope that this will help,

Hold F8 while booting to go into safe mode, or last known good configuration. Then, preform the update from there, and that should fix your problem.

XP says printer is seen as new hardware and won't go away

When you do a restore on those, yes, you load XP, then you have to run the drivers disk.
The trick is, after you restore windows, you have to install the chipset driver first.
Reboot
Then do sound, NIC (NIC has to be done manually), and video (don't worry about the USB drivers, they get taken care of in the windows updates)
Reboot
After all of that is in, do your windows updates (of course reboot again)
Then do windows update manually (START>Update Windows, Custom) and make sure to include hardware updates.
Once all of that is in, then attach the printer (don't turn it on) install the printer software, and turn the printer on when it tells you to.

Not doing the restore in this order will result in the errors you are getting.

The chipset drivers first is the key to the whole project.
(I've probably done 100+ of these).

I don't know if you can go back in now to do these steps, you might be better off, starting all over.

Try that, and let us know.

System reboots when acpi turned off

Hi martinkp, what you need is the update from windows. Leave you're acpi enabled withing the bios. Check windows update. Windows will update (windows software for the acpi). Rule of thumb concerning windows update. Check the dates of the updates & install in order, oldest to newest. This should fix you're system from shutting down. There will be no reason to turn off acpi after updating.
