My daughter has a Minnie Mouse ride on train that will only light up and go backwards. it will not go forward but it will light up forward. What is wrong with it.

    It does have a track but she is riding it off the track and it has always worked that way.

    We tried it on the track and it still won't go forward.

For all of the geniuses...YOU CANNOT SWITCH THE WIRES AS THEY ARE MOLDED INTO THE
"ONLY FITS THIS WAY" PLUG....WELL..I SUPPOSE IT IS POSSIBLE TO DO...TAKING A CHANCE ON DESTROYING THE MATED TO BATTERY PLUG.....IN OTHER WORDS...THE PLASTIC PLUG IS CERTAIN SHAPE THAT MATES WUTH THE BATTERY...
THE PROBLEM ISNT THAT IT LITERALLY ONLY GOES IN REVERSE...BUT ITS THE ONLY DIRECTION THE TOY WILL ACTUALLY TRAVEL...THE WHEELS SPIN..BOTH DIRECTIONS...BUT THEY DONT GRIP THE TRACK WELL ENOUGH TO MAKE THE TOY MOVE AROUND THE TRACK

SOURCE: peg perego train only goes backwards, but doesnt have a reverse and forward button. please help

funny, you can fix this real easily, you just need to flip flop the cables on the motor, currently the polarity is reversed, theres only two wires connected to the motor just switch them around

If it runs backwards, then the problem but be the forwarding part of the controller. Usually your local Model Shop will know a repairer, or they might undertake it themselves.

No data on the wiring. Are you sure it has working lights, as it is not in the instruction? Do you have a multimeter. Test the bulbs for continuity. Test the switch if it has one. The wiring must be really basic, battery positive + > switch > bulbs > battery - negative.

does this have a special battery that is wired to plug into the train-if it is,are the wires the same colors as in the battery you just replaced-they should be color coded- to switch the wires, cut them on the battery side of the plug switch them-you can get an automotive wire splicing kit at a parts store like autozone,that you can make the connections with -cheers Denny
