The main board has failed. Replace the main board will fix the problem.
By the way, where did you buy the TV? If you have bought it from Costco then try to give them a call to see if it still under warranty.
Hope this will help.

Sounds like the power board is overheating and shutting off to prevent burn out. Check with vizio and explain your problem. a lot of vizio parts have lifetime warranties so check with manufacturer. j

may be a mainboard problem. If you can see the orange light it usualy means that there is power running through the TV... usually inverter boards are a problem when you do not see any backlight at all.

stored voltages are high no touching these circuts becuase they hold charges and alot of screws.
fualty capacitors you say after a while it stays on theres a full charge in the unit theres some type of discharging effect on the set after its off for a while. voltage goes to low or unstable after it is off for a while. your better off getting the service docs for this set if you want to diy..other wise get a tv tech to check it for you. hope this helps

I had same problem. Unplug set for 10minutes then plug it in and let it go thru it's startup routine.

I suspect it's a power supply problem. MOST flat screen TV's do a "self-check" to assure the required voltages (at the correct levels) are present at 'power up'... (apparent) with yours, one or more voltages is missing or out of spec? Suspect one of your power transistors because they do get quite hot.
