SOURCE: Honeywell Gas Furnace

A Make and Model number of the furnace not the thermostat will help but I can walk you thru the operation of a typical furnace. It sounds to me that the burners are igniting properly but the flame sensor is not sensing the flame and shutting down the system. You will need to find the sensor and clean it and check the wire from it to the control board. Typically, the flame sensor is found at one side or the other of the burner box. It is a small probe that the flame hits. Depending upon your model it may have a small wire attached to it leading back to the control. Or it may be part of your auto-pilot assembly. ? At any rate, you will need to get to it and very delicately brush it off. Then inspect the flame channel. This is a trough area where the flame travels to ignite all burners. Over time, they tend to fill with rust and debris. Take a small screwdriver and run the blade down the trough. Inspect the wire that goes from the flame sensor to the control board. Make sure it is not frayed or broken or shorting out and that the connection at the board is good.

Beyond that, it's time for a technician to come.

Let us know the Make and Model of the furnace (found inside the furnace cabinet) and maybe we can help you further.

SOURCE: Dayton 3E227A Heating Cycle

The sensor for the thermostat is probably going bad or has bad connections. It is (or thinks it is) heating up fast and therefore shuts of the heater.

GDM12 reach-in just cycle clicks when plugged in - not cooling

Clicking like this is usually a problem with the compressor start device. They are prone to failing and the overload protector is cycling to hopefully protect the compressor from burning out. If the start device is a solid state device if you remove it from the compressor it should not rattle. If it does it is bad and will need to be replaced. Installing a new strat device should get it back up and running.

Check valve

If you are asking about the valve to the left of the water pump, it is used to dump water when the unit pumps the water out of the sump to keep sediment out. If it is bad, the unit will have short freeze cycles as the the valve is leaking water out causing the float to drop prematurely and causing small cubes and short freeze cycles.

Beeping 3 times every few seconds

In the freeze cycle too long. Usually about an hour. Several conditions can cause this. look for stuck float or constant water running even when machine is off. start there first.

Short defrost cycle so some ice still on the evap and start new cycle so after some time lots of ice on coil

The defrost cycle is a set time. I would suggest cleaning the evaporator so it has less chance to hang up in the trays.

Beeping 3 times every 3 seconds

The 3 beeps indicates that the unit was in the freeze cycle for 60 minutes. Causes: 1.) Water valve leaking, allowing water to continually enter the system. 2.) Float switch stuck, sending false signal to board. This indicates ice not being produced. 3,.) Low freon level causing long freeze cycle. 4.) Hot gas valve leaking thru causing warmer than normal evap plates=low production. 5.) Expansion Valve not feeding freon properly to evap plates.
Items 1 and 2 are the most common. Number 3 possible due to freon leak in the system. Number 4 and 5 are usually a very rare occurance.
Hope this helps ya.

We have a true T49F freezer and the evaporator fans are not running. The compressor is running on startup. The coils are cold. But are freezing up. Shouldn't the fan be on, or does the cabinet have to...

Freezers have a sensor that is referred to as a "Fan Delay/Defrost Terminator". It senses the temp during the defrost cycle. Usually, when the evap temp reaches about 50 degrees, there should not be any frost or ice on it. This device terminates the defrost cycle. It also keeps the fans off so warm air is not circulated. When the evap gets to about 20 degress or so, the sensor switches on the evap fans. If the fans are not coming on, either the sensor is bad or the evap is not reaching the proper temp to cause the sensor to turn on the fans.

Hope is helps to clear up some things and point you in a direction as to what might be going on.
