the dell site has xp vista and w7 driver only for this old PC
if the device manager shows, keyboard drivers missing then try the one below marked,

oops dell lost the users manual after 9 long years, sadly
see the 2 keys below, blue, sun Icons
you push Fn blue key left side of keyboard
then push SUN key down. lower red arrow below.
if this fails to lower the backlamps
that means the drivers are missing. xp,.vista,w7 are all dell supports. (NO OS stated by OP nor hyjackers. as is par here)
Fn+down-arrow : key. if dead driver is wrong.!!!

no PC computer model even stated, so answers will be wrong, and you are the cause, OP and hyjackers.
can we assume the brightness down key is dead? (laptop hot key, or desktop monitor front face or OSD key? dead?)

If JUST those hot keys (blue) are dead.?
that means the KBD driver is wrong.
the #1 reason of bad drivers are
1:upgrading the PC above w7 version (dell has no support for w8 or 10 this PC)
2: new HDD.
3: new SSD installed.
4: using wrong install disks not from Dell.

Manual steps to install the Wi-Fi –
1. Extract the files normally
2. In device manager ---> Right click on Network Controller
3. Select Next ---> Choose to install driver from a specific path
4. While searching for compatible driver in a specific location
---> Browse and add the extracted folder
