If you were to tell us the make and model of the camera, and provide a more technical description of the fault instead of 'flicking about', we might be in a position to offer advice.

There is light at the screen but no picture and sound normal

HI.usually when problems occurs without picture, either slanted picture has vertical or horizontal light on it.The one responsible for this is what we called ..PICTURE-TUBE.It is a cathode -ray tube in the television receiver that translates the received signal into a picture on a luminescent screen. It is the picture tube who creates an image that is composed of identical horizontal lines. So any problems in regards to picture whether it only shows vertical or horizontal.its the PICTURE TUBE that was damaged.Hope this idea helps..Thank you for choosing fixya.

Hello, could you help me please? On a canon 350D how do you switch beween evf to lcd when composing a picture? I cannot find any button that facilitates that function.

On cameras like these you cannot compose a picture on the LCD screen. You have to use the viewfinder and check the results on the screen afterwards. The viewfinder is not actually an electronic viewfinder, you are looking through the lens via a mirror as was the case on film cameras. When you press the shutter the mirror swings up and lets the image through to the ccd chip just as if it was a film camera.

Same problem with sony ke-p42m1

this might be a bad or temp sensetive tuner, why don't you try hooking up a dvd player to your video jacks and see if the problem is present while watching a dvd disc. If it doesn't then you may have to replace the small signal board(where the cable or sat feed hooks up to the tv).
