Step 1. Go to Control Panel--Windows updates; click Check for Updates--Windows is sending updates for different printers. If there is one install it. See if that takes care of the problem.
If not, go to Step 2.
Step 2.---Turn on the Printer---go to Control Panel---Device Manager. Under device manager look for any yellow
exclamation point, if there are any under "Imaging device" or Portable Devices, then there is something wrong with the driver. Go to
www.dell.com at the top type in 926 printer, the next page click on the first result "Install Dell 926 All-In-One Printer Drivers. Follow the directions one by one, start with the first and work your way down.

Go to
www.dell.com home page. Go to Support and Help in the middle of the screen, put the cursor over it and click Drivers and Downloads; next screen identify your model: Select Model-Printer; select you product line--click on Printer; next page Select you Product Model 926 (Personal All-In-One) click on it;
then confirm Under Printers click the plus sign and it will give you 4 options, choose the firmware option. DO NOT INSTALL THIS FIRMWARE UNDER YOU HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING ELSE. SOMETIMES FIRMWARE CAN MAKE DEVICES INOPERABLE.
