Acer Aspire 5100 won't connect to secure Verizon Mifi 2200

Can not connect to a secure network! I use the correct pass key. Tech person from Verizon spent over an hour and determined it isn't Verizon, it is the lap top. Apparently I can connect to wifi wireless unsecure networks, however.

Delete the previous wireless connection than changed the key in router and than try to connect.

Hello

Three things cause this in VISTA. First the laptop's MAC address is being rejected by the secure network. In which case you'll need to find out why from the administrator of the secured network. Second, when you first took your laptop to a local coffee shop did you select HOME or WORK network. VISTA has a problem in that if you selected WORK and you then go to your HOME network it won't stop seeing the WORK selection. The only cure I've come accross is to do a SFC/scanow at the CMD prompt. The third cause is a virus. Although VISTA doesn't get many viruses, when it does they cause outstanding problems. Download AVGFREE, MALWARE BYTES and SUPERANTISPYWARE. They all work in VISTA and you'll be surprise what they find.

Conecting to verizon jetpack

I had them and others. They do not work well and are not worth the money. If you have cable with a wifi hotspot option, you would be better off using that.. The Jetpack sucks big time. Cancel the mifi service.

How do i turn on my wifi on acer aspire 53152077?

Network Key (WEP, WPA, WPA2 Encryption key)To connectyour computer to a wireless router, you click the Refresh networklist, then Choose your wireless network and then click Connectto your secured Wireless Network, it will asks for a Network Keybefore allowing you to connect into your wireless network. This NetworkKey is either the WEP, or WPA or WPA2 Encryption key that is used toconfigure the Wireless Router. The Passphrase is an alternate way tosetup the Encryption key.
When you are requested for a Network Key, you can just enter the Passphrasethat was used to configure the Encryption key in the wireless router.http://www.fixya.com/support/r5270415-network_password_network_addressFor information on securing your wireless network, configuring the wireless router and configuring the wireless card in thelaptop/computer, please click on this link and follow my instructions :-http://www.fixya.com/support/r3559128-wireless_router_security

How do i connect MiFi2200 to a wrt54g?

I think this won't work...the MIFI device works as a wireless router that can supply 5 connections and runs on battery which last for 4 hours for one connection then goes down as more connections are in...the MIFI was designed for mobility as the WRT54G is not...I don't exactly know what your plans are but this won't work well.

The Verizon MiFi is a combination 3G modem and Wi-Fi router that is battery-operated for full mobility. Once the MiFi has been activated (more on that later) the device connects to the Verizon Mobile Broadband network (renamed from BroadbandAccess) simply by pushing the power button. In just a few seconds, the MiFi is connected to the 3G high-speed network and the Wi-Fi router takes over. The MiFi appears as a hotspot to any device with Wi-Fi capability, and making the Wi-Fi connection is as simple as entering the network security code which is printed on the back of the MiFi. That’s it: The notebook or other device is now connected to the Verizon network via Wi-Fi. The network code only has to be entered to make the first connection, after which it’s an automatic process. That’s the beauty of the MiFi method: Push the power button and the laptop/UMPC/phone is connected to 3G.

Hi,

This method will hard reset the wireless drivers back to default settings, but before you perform this remove power from the modem and router for 2 minutes reconnect power and wait another 2 minutes for them to settle down.

Go to your laptop, right click "computer" select "manage" and then "device manager", a list will populate, then click on the + sign next to "network adapters" and right click on the wireless adapter and "uninstall" the device, reboot the PC and wait for windows to detect the wireless card and install the drivers for it, this will appear in the system tray (bottom right hand side) when its done try to connect again.

Good luck
