I suspect the door/light switch has malfunction. Look for a plunger type of switch and press it in and see if light goes out. If light goes out, close door and gently press on door and see if light goes out. If this happens, I think the door hinges are not closing the door 100% so the door switch is not engaged. Now if door light stays on while pressing door switch, then the door switch might be your issue. Good Luck

SOURCE: Oven wont turn on.

I tried several times to get my oven to work and nothing seemed to help. After downloading the manual from this site, my husband locked and unlocked the oven door several times very hard and it knocked something in place and now my oven works. I hope it works for you.

SOURCE: "door lock" light stays on and oven won't work

Same problems. When I removed the lock operating arm nothing happened. Motor is not operating. I've temporarily kluged it by tying the "unlock" (upper) switch circuit together and disconnecting one side of the power to the "locked" (lower) switch. At least we'll have an oven to use, but I'll have to come back and remove the lock motor assembly to find out what's really wrong.
BTW, if some knows those keyed-in service codes they could be useful.

SOURCE: Ran Self Cleaning - Display went blank & Oven Door stayed locked

You need thermostat limiter #8300802. It is on the back of the stove behind some sheet metal towards the top. With shipping this part is about $39.00. But don't waste your money. If you replace it, it will burn out again! I am currently trying to find a way for either a class action lawsuit or a total recall. Kitchenaid/Whirpool is well aware of this problem. A $1500.00 stove and it won't self clean.

Hold the "oven light"

Wait until "Door Locked" shows on screen.
Press "Cancel/Off" (Upper Oven) wait until "Door Locked" turns off.
The oven F5 E1 is now fixed.

Oven door won't close

You should not have been able t force the oven open when in self cleaning mode since u did I am sure that you have damaged the locking mechanism and the solenoid lock inside the top of the oven that sets the lock when doing self cleaning.

this is not a huge problem but it needs to be fixed most likely not by u call an appliance rpair shop in your area and it should cost no more than $150 to fix

Self clean inoperative

Dear Superglide, An error code "F5 E1" means "door latch not operating". In such situation I would recomend to replace the oven lock assy (part # 9782611 ) which is located on the back panel. If you are going to do it yourself - DO NOT forget to unplug the power cord first. About service manual - try to call Kitchen Aid directly.
