I've been having the same problem after I change my Aztech router to D-Link. I hope these can help you because my problem solved after doing it.

Go to Control Panel > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings and make sure you check the 'Automatically detect settings' option box and the other two boxes is left unchecked. Good luck!!!

SOURCE: computer and wireless router being connected but no internet

Hello,

To reset the Modem all you have to do is to get a Paper Clip or any object that is like a paper clip then just turn your router to the place where the LAN cables are and just nearby you will see a small button that is abit hidden , so just press that and while pressing it for 5seconds, remove the power cable and plug it back while the clip is still being pressed in the reset button.

Remove that clip from there and you should be able to see that your power light on the router is blinking, wait till it get stable, then all you have to do is login with going to 192.168.1.1 then enter the default username and password which is either admin, admin, or root, password. or root, admin

Then just configure your router again and all shall be well.

THanks.
Hope this helped you.

Fire stick 2 keeps buffering and freezing. Have WiFi. Network says signal is very good. How can I stop if buffering. please help. It's annoying.

You need to see what the wireless router says about the channel congestion. Not necessarily the signal strength. The firestick finds the router and connects to it by matching its channel. So in essence you have everything on the one channel. IF you have neighbors that are on the channel then it is very congested. There is no way to change the channel from the firestick side.
tip

Amazon fire stick reset

make sure that your wifi is a good signal,if you are using a lower tier internet service then it wont work, call your internet provider and verify that your internet is sufficient, also use 5ghz wifi, not 2.8ghz.
if this doesnt work for connecting then,
reset this way,
straight from amazon,reset firestick,
Please unplug the Fire TV stick from power source and then plug it again after 5 seconds.
Once the Fire TV stick is back on, please take batteries out of the remote and re-insert
-----------------------------------------------
also, xfinity remote controls work with firestik tv in place of the original remote, program it for a vizio tv and forget the original remote!

My fire stick wont allow me to sign into my internet connection

Just incase the problem is still on going, I want to assume that you have disconnected and reconnected the fire stick with your HDMI slot. Perhaps tried a different HDMI slot on your TV? Does your TV recognize the fire stick when you plug it in? If not, remove a device that you know works, from their HDMI slot and plug in the fire stick. It should be recognized by your TV. If not, return the fire stick to the store. Depending on where you bought it, they may be able test it with you there. Best Buy is really good for this, but you need to ask.

Moving on, once the TV recognizes the fire stick in the proper HDMI slot, it is just a matter of finding your wireless network, logging on to it and go forward & do great things!
just follow the setup steps on the setup menu. I reran thus through my Amazon Fire equipment to make sure.
As long as there isn't advanced security set up on your wireless router, there should not be any problem.

I would be very curious to know if this helped you.

If my wifi connection is good how come my fire stick won't work

reset your router. a lot of times your wifi signal strength is good but no data is being transferred. on a computer you would notice a orange triangle hovering over the wifi strength indicator denoting no data is being transferred, but a fire stick doesn't have that feature built into the firmware. so reset the router or reset the first stick and the connection should be re-established.

How can I get my new Amazon fire tv stick to install? Every thing is plugged in correctly and powered up but the screen says it "Can't contact Amazon.com so try a new router or wireless network"

Check this first:
  • Connect your Amazon Fire TV device to one of these network or router types:
    • Open, WEP, WPA-PSK, and WPA2-PSK encrypted networks
    • B, G, and N routers on 2.4Ghz
    • A and N routers on 5Ghz
    • Hidden networks
  • Enable wireless connectivity on your Amazon Fire TV device. From the Home screen, select Settings > System > Wi-Fi.
  • Make sure you know your network password (if required). If you see a lock icon, a network password is required. This password is not your Amazon account password.
  • Make sure your Internet connection is not down. Restart your router and modem to solve most Wi-Fi network issues.
  • Do not place your wireless router or Amazon Fire TV device in a cabinet, as it impacts your Wi-Fi signal strength.
Also, try this for Fire TV Stick:
  • Use the included HDMI extender to optimize the location of your Fire TV Stick. The HDMI extender can improve your wireless connectivity by positioning your Fire TV Stick further from the TV.
  • Plug the power cord into the included power adapter and then into a wall outlet to ensure the device receives enough power for optimal performance.

Still having trouble?
  • Restart your Amazon Fire TV device. Disconnect the power cord from your Amazon Fire TV device for three seconds, and then plug the power cord back in.
Tip: You can also restart your Amazon Fire TV device with your remote. Press and hold the Select button and the Play button at the same time until the Amazon Fire TV device restarts (about five seconds). Or go to Settings > System > Restart.

WHY DO I LOSE MY CONNECTION TO THE NET WITH MY CELL-C HUAWEI E1752 3G USB INTERNET STICK BEFORE MY ACTIVE DATA BUNDLE HAS DEPLETED?

If the device has worked for you in other locations, the most likely answer is that you have low signal strength from your network carrier to your device. To test if low signal strength is the problem, try moving your laptop to another location, closer to the cell tower you think might be servicing you to see if it starts working. If your laptop connect software has the ability to show you the signal strength, look to see how many dBm the signal strength is. The larger the negative number, the worse it it. Below -85 dBM, you will have frequent drop outs.
-75 to -80 dBm should give you usable results. -65 dBM and lower should give you very good results. If you can only find the strength in bars, 1 or 2 bars is bad, 3 bars marginal, 4 & 5 bars useful to good. You can buy repeater devices which pick up cell signals and rebroadcast them, making them stronger for you laptop to pick up the cell signal. They usually have an external antenna port which you can put outside and high to help pull in the signal. Trees, hills, and rain all block and lower the signal strength between you and the cell tower. Distance is also a big factor.

Cant get wifi unless I am a couple of inches from router. All other wifi devices work perfectly. I even downloaded the latest driver directly from Intel and problem still exists.

Having a wireless Internet signal in your home allows multiple devices to use the same Internet connection without having to run lengths of Ethernet cable to each device. Given that the wireless network is transmitted over the air, the consistency of your Internet connection depends on the strength of the wireless signal. If wireless signal strength is not strong enough to give you a consistent Internet connection, there are a few simple steps for finding the problem and improving your signal strength.

Reset all devices. The majority of Internet issues, including poor wireless signal strength, are very often solved by a simple power cycle of all the devices in the network. Locate the power cords of both your modem and your wireless router and remove them (if you use a modem/router combination, simply unplug the power to that device). Leave them unplugged for a full 30 seconds, plug them back in and restart your computer. When your computer fully reboots, check your wireless signal strength to see if it has improved. If it has not, further troubleshooting is required. Move your computer closer to your router, or your router closer to your computer. Wireless routers do not have unlimited range. One reason your computer may be getting a weak signal strength from your wireless network could be because your computer is simply outside of the router's range. Typically, ISPs (Internet Service Providers) will install your modem in one specific location in the house and the modem will not work at other locations, so moving the modem or modem/router combination may not be a possibility. If this is the case, you may need to move the computer to a location that is within the range of the wireless router's broadcast. If you still get poor signal strength, your router may be experiencing a malfunction. Contact the technical support department of your router manufacturer. Router malfunctions often are not the result of a bad or broken router, but of something much simpler, such as the router's needing a firmware upgrade or an incorrect setting on the router's internal setup. If your router manufacturer is unable to improve your wireless signal strength, it may be time to purchase a new router. Purchase a new router. Wireless routers are priced in part based on how widely their wireless signal broadcasts (in other words, the more expensive the router you buy, the larger a wireless signal the router will broadcast). Included in the packaging of each wireless router is the approximated range, in square footage, of that router's wireless network. A good rule of thumb is to know the square footage of your house and buy a router that can accommodate that square footage. That way, as long as the router is functioning properly, you will have strong wireless signal strength throughout your entire home.

My wireless adapter says i have a good connection, but when I go to play games online my signal strength changes so much it makes the game glitch

Whats going on is that your signal strength from the router is good but when playing a game the green bars that you see are not that of the signal strength but that of the internet Speed. Seems the signal is there but the internet speed is not I would restart modem and router see if this helps boost speed you can always check speeds at speedtest.net to be sure you are getting what you are paying for.

Does this works without the Internet connection dropping out?
If the wireless connection has a low signal, try positioning the wireless router or the laptop to get a better signal strength.
Also try reinstalling your wireless driver.
