My speed queen washing machine does not want to do the washing cycle. It is as if the brake is on and the motor turning in the wrong direction. It trips after a while. the Rinse and spin cycle works

Possible your outlet filter is blocked. This requires cleaning depending on your usage. Clean this out and refit. Good luck. Plug off the wall first.

Turn the timer indicator to the asterisk * start it up. It should agitate without no water in it. If it don't agitate you have a bad coupling part number 285753 whirlpool. Google it.

I would call whoever repaired the washer back out and have them diagnose.

SOURCE: Operates correctly on all wash,rinse,soak cycles but does no spin

Check the door switch, if it's faulty the spin cycle will not work, but everything else will.

Check the belt and the idler pully that tensions it.
With the belt off , the pully should spin freely.

The spin brake will make the bowl hard to turn one way. This is normal.

Speed queen washing machine fills water but does not agitate but all other cycles spin and rinse working perfect. i took out the belt and started the cycle and the motor was moving fine.
the motor spins with out the belt , makes me tend to discount the capacitor
I would be looking for a tub brake that is not being opened to allow the tub to agitate
there are solenoid activated brake under the machine the applies a brake when you lift the lid during wash, when the program is finished
have a technician check it out

Speed queen top load washer does not agitate properly
you need to see if the motor turns one direction during wash and the other during the spin. If so, your gearbox is faulty and needs replacement. If motor only goes in one direction at all times, then very possible, the timer is faulty.
