It could be the filters need cleaned or replaced. Try turning it on without the filters on it, if it doesn't pulse on and off it may mean the filters are restricted and need cleaned or replaced. Do not use the vacuum without filters.

Dyson animal pulses on and off

Hi, this happens when the PCB detects a blockage. Take the filter out and then try it. If it no longer goes for only 5 seconds then your filter needs washed. Wash the filter in your washing machine.

My dyson v6 slim pulses. I have done all suggestions re trouble shooting. It doesn't do it when the filter is removed.

This could be a battery issue, when the filter is in place the power required to run it is higher, so a weak battery cause the problem

My dyson v6 pulses when I put the filter back in

if fitting/ removing the filter makes a change ( filters no nothing but filter air), then the problem is the filter
if a new filter makes no difference to the problem , take it in to a sevice agent for repair

My Dyson v6 with purple dust container, power surge whilst vacuuming and then it stops all together even though it's fully charged

Hi Sally, it's Jack at Dyson.

Your V6 machine will pulse to let you know if something is preventing airflow from passing through the machine. This could occur if there's a blockage in the floor tool, wand or bin inlet. It's also worth checking the bin inlet flap can open and close freely, and isn't jammed shut with debris.

Our video guide should help get your machine up and running again:

Dyson V6 Animal keeps start and stopping.

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

Your Dyson V6 vacuum is designed to make a pulsing noise to warn you when something is preventing airflow from passing through the machine. This could be a blockage in the motorised floor tool, wand or bin inlet. It's also a good idea to check the bin inlet flap can open and close freely, and isn't jammed in place.

Our video support guide will walk you through the simple troubleshooting checks:

I'm confident that removing any blockages and checking the bin inlet flap will resolve the issue with your machine. But if you would like any further help, just give the Dyson Customer Helpline a call on 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) 1800 239 766 (AU), or 0800 298 0298 (UK).
