Code 10 on Verbatim 1TB. How do I fix this please?

If you cannot get the connector fixed then you need to remove the hard drive from the adapter case and insert the hard drive into a new adapter case.

That beeping signals a failure to communicate between the disk and the motherboard of the pc - the disk is defective. You have a slim chance of recovering what's on it by removing the actual disk from the external case and plugging it in the a desktop.

It would be difficult and might not even retrieve the data. The method professionals use is to remove the platters and install then in another drive (expensive).

If your drive came with any drivers be sure to install them.
Also note that the Store N Go 97538 is a USB 3.0 HDD. You will require a USB 3.0 port in order to use it.

The is a very good program called Filescavenger which will recover files from your disk. I know I have used it and on a verbatim 1TB. The problem I have is that my Verbatim 1TB Model53018 keeps losing its visibility in windows and I have to recover all the files and transfering to another disk!!! Its just bollocks and I won't be buying another one of these **** things. Pay more and get a reliable disk. If Verbatim want to send me a fix... feel free and I might take down this comment. I have the same issue, however with my verbatim 500g its ok. i believe it is because the lacie is a desktop external and therefore is compatable with windows xp and 7 alone.
Verbatim is a "portable" external hard drive which makes it compatible with several different systems. I would suggest returning it, I just formatted my old verbatim harddrive and set up mediaasharing. Through my router. You can actually route the lacie harddrive by going to my computer and right click the icon. Next go to share with; advanced settings and allow all. Then when you turn your ps3 on search for media servers... I would suggest to google media server for ps3 to get it all seet up. GOOD LUCK
