SOURCE: cigarette lighter socket not working
The fuse for the cigarette lighter is the 15 amp CIG fuse. According to my wiring book, the fuse box is either behind the console, passenger side for US cars, or under the dash, driver side.

check wiring behind each cig lighter or use test light inside the socket

start with a test light and check for power at the center of the cigarette lighter socket. If power is good, then check for ground at side of lighter socket.
If no power, run wire from power wire of lighter to power wire of stereo, thus tapping the power directly and bothering to trace out where the open int he circuit may be.

The front lighter is powered by fuse 24(20 amp) in the interior fuse panel and the other lighter or power point is powered by fuse 12 (20 amp) in the under hood fuse box

no, are you checking the lighter with the ignition in the run position?
