Is it broken ? That's a $2K guitar. I won't want to mess it up.
Why not take it to a luthier and let him work on it, instead of risking damage ? Let him set it up and fine tune it while it's in the shop. I take all my new guitars to the luthier soon after purchase, then periodically just for check ups.
Even a fantastic guitar will be better after a good luthier sets it up.
Just my opinion.

Its possible that if you changed strings the saddle might have changed position in its slot. It has to sit uniformly on top of the piezo element in order to work properly. Try testing the pickup(piezo element) first before suspecting the preamp.

You could try boosting the bass and reducing the highs on the EQ setting, however there MAY be a probllem with the pickup, not the preamp.
SOURCE: hi ive had a fishman
It is possiblle that the sudden pulse from the pickup due to tapping is saturating the input of your amplifier, and that is what actually kills the signal. Try this into a different amp as a test. Once you do the test I can offer some suggestions to try.

SOURCE: I have a Fishman Prefix
The little plastic catch above the word "prefix" should release the battery carrier.
SOURCE: It is not a problem yet, but how do I connect a Fishman Triple Play to my acoustic guitar
with most add-on products like this, they would be self adhering. I suppose if you want it there permanent, a bit of glue.
