Is it broken ? That's a $2K guitar. I won't want to mess it up.
Why not take it to a luthier and let him work on it, instead of risking damage ? Let him set it up and fine tune it while it's in the shop. I take all my new guitars to the luthier soon after purchase, then periodically just for check ups.
Even a fantastic guitar will be better after a good luthier sets it up.
Just my opinion.

SOURCE: Unit inoperative, one LED blip on battery install only.

Its possible that if you changed strings the saddle might have changed position in its slot. It has to sit uniformly on top of the piezo element in order to work properly. Try testing the pickup(piezo element) first before suspecting the preamp.

SOURCE: Fishman Prefix Plus preamp on my acoustic guitar

You could try boosting the bass and reducing the highs on the EQ setting, however there MAY be a probllem with the pickup, not the preamp.

SOURCE: hi ive had a fishman

It is possiblle that the sudden pulse from the pickup due to tapping is saturating the input of your amplifier, and that is what actually kills the signal. Try this into a different amp as a test. Once you do the test I can offer some suggestions to try.

Testimonial: "thanks i'll give that one a try soon n let ya know thanks "

SOURCE: I have a Fishman Prefix

The little plastic catch above the word "prefix" should release the battery carrier.

SOURCE: It is not a problem yet, but how do I connect a Fishman Triple Play to my acoustic guitar

with most add-on products like this, they would be self adhering. I suppose if you want it there permanent, a bit of glue.

Fishman prefix plus on Martin OMC 15E buzzing when volume knob is turned and random shorting out sounds through amp

You have to get the volume pot cleaned and lubricated. If not a quick replacement should do.

How to operate an acoustic fender electric guitar Fishman tuner

If it's the same as mine, the tuner has a little clothespin clip. You clip that on to your guitar's headstock and turn it around till you can see the screen while picking strings. The tuner picks up vibrations through the headstock and with it's microphone and it tells you what it hears. The little needle tells you the note and if the string you're plucking is below that note, above that note or right on. You have to figure out if you're in the right octave on your own.

Hello, I bought a second hand Martin J1 that has a fishman rare earth single coil pickup fitted. The problem is, when its plugged into the amp ( AER 60w) it makes a cracking noise every so often when

You have several options:

1. Do nothing and live with the occasional problem.

2. Check your guitar cable and the battery connections for loose or intermittent connections/noise. Try to see if it's the amp responsible for the noise....ie, Is it caused by vibrations, or maybe static....especially in winter when it's dry. Your home power may have noise on the line, so borrow or rent a power conditioner which filters out noise. If that fails, go to 3.

3. Bite the bullet and pay a competent guitar tech/luthier to repair it. Most of these issues are due to loose/faulty connections. Should be less than an hour. Hey....It's a Martin.

3a. Pay a guitar tech to loosen the end pin connector so you can see if you can repair it yourself.

I pressume that martin thinline preamp pick up has two pick ups ?

your pressumption would be correct. The Thinline 332 runs under the bridge saddle, and the Piezo is attached ti the inside of the guitar body, tilt your guitar and have a look inside, you may be able to see it.

How do I open the battery compartment on the oooCXE

The little latch is above the word "Fishman" right in the center top of the tuner. With a fingernail, pull the latch toward the center of the tuner and the whole thing pivots out exposing the batteries.

When I connect the onboard Aura via USB to my computer and open the Aura imaging software, it doesn't recognize my device and a fishman product..... HELP!

You could call Martin Guitars at 1-888-433-9177, or visit their website:
http://www.martinguitar.com/contact

And/or try Fishman:
http://www.fishman.com/contact
Although they don't have a recognizable toll free number, they do have an online form.

If you have access to support for your computer, you could try that, instead.

Good luck, and I hope this helps!
