Hi. My insignia LED had back lights but no display but it did have sound. Using the flashlight test I could see the display so I replaced its inverter board. Even with the new part I still have the exact same result. Any tips on what I could try next?

Thx for answer. Are tcon and main board same?

They may be separate but sometimes the two may be combined on one board.

Replaced wrong board. Board that controls the image on the screen is the t con board. Inverter board is for powering the leds.

SOURCE: wont stay on

IF there is no display even with a flashlight, the P/S board is malfunctioning. Bad capacitors or LCD driver board circuit. Mine did this and it was bad caps, 4 of 8 were bad and a burned out chip on the P/S board.

SOURCE: Same Insignia problem but still not working

Check if there is back light on or not?
If back light is on means this unit is having problem with panel (deffective.).
If there is no back light change main baord.

Good luck

There is a Switch transistor to power on -off the hi voltaje for lights. Check 15V from power source go to this transistor colector, Using soldering Iron, make a juntion between colector and emiter, to short 15V to Hi voltaje power. I´m fixing 10 monitor the same trouble. I will remove a liter transistor.

Try these service manuals: http://elektrotanya.com/?q=showresult&megnev=PHILIPS&megnev2=190&kategoria=&kat2=all

You can have bad inverter transformers, or bad lamp assemblies due to poor solder works.

SOURCE: 50 " Phillips Plasma tv. Screen is black, blinking red light.

Sounds more like blown/exploding capacitors on the PSB-Power Supply board. No OSD-on screen display a blinking led or chatter/relay clikcing at startup is the tv going into fault protection and bypassing the startup pins. The YSUS-Main controls the pic which is attached to 2 buffer boards the YBU-upper YBL-Lower. They control the upper and lower portion of the OSD and the YSUS controls both of them. Since you're getting No OSD you need to check for blown caps on the PSB first. Unplugging the set resets the error again. So you start all over again.

It could be bad LED lamps in the panel or it could be a power supply issue, you will need to test the voltage going to the lamps to find out where the issue is at, if you have 100 plus volts going to each string of lamps then the lamps are bad if you see a voltage jump to over 140 volts then drop to almost nothing its in the lamps but if you see no voltage or a low voltage its the power board...good luck!

Insignia 50" LED tv. Using a flashlight the left half is all black and text is dim but visible. Right half looks different and text is not visible. LED driver failed or LED's themselves?

Back - light problem. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement. To some models sets, the back-light inverter and SMPS section circuit will be integrated at its main board itself. If so; the main board should be replaced. To some models of sets, all these section circuit will be integrated at its main board. If this is the case, you have to replace the main board.

How to repair an insignia 37" led tv

The first thing I would try is to disconnect the tv from the power source. Wait five minutes before plugging it back into the wall socket. Turn the tv back on and see if you get a display. Try changing the channel and switching inputs. See if you can get it to display anything at all. You could shine a flashlight at the screen and see if you can make out an image. If you see an image with a flashlight then your backlight is out.

Is your tv less than a year old? If it is less than a year old you are still under the manufacturer's warranty. I would see if Best Buy would honor the manufacturer's warranty in store. If that is not the case they should give you a number to contact Insignia directly.

If your tv is out of warranty, it may be cheaper to replace it. I would do your homework and check the price of a repair vs the price of a new tv.

The cause of problem with an LG LED smart tv

LG TV 3 blink code is due to bad power supply or LED lamps in the panel. If you have technical skills of soldering, physically check and replace if you found bulging capacitors in the power supply. If PSU is working, check LED back light strips with LED tester and replace faulty LED back light strip.
