Even if you select a longer stitch? Have the feed dogs been dropped for darning? Otherwise, your mechanical machine may be seizing due to old oil that has solidified.

SOURCE: bernina 1130 feed dogs won't feed fabric

On a Bernina 1130 the power on-off knob and the feed dog raise and lower knob look similar and are next to each other on the end of the machine, making it easy to lower the dog assembly entirely, without realizing it. Make sure you didn't accidentally lower the entire feed dog assembly by turning the feed dog knob: you can tell as you turn it if the dogs are up or down. On the Bernina 1130 the knob, like the power should be in the horizontal position to be working both feed and power.

Bernina artista 200, how do i control the feed dogs?

Not sure what you are asking. The stitch length will determine how far the feed dogs travel (thus pulling the fabric) to create each stitch. There is also the foot (or knee) control that determines the speed that the machine runs.

The page 21 of the manual has that information:

I have a bernina 1130 the feed dogs have dropped and will not feed fabric. I have make sure on the right knobs that it isn't on with dogs down mode. Please advise as to problems to look for.

If it were mechanical, my suggestion would be to oil, but this is a computerized machine. The manual instructs to only oil the hook/shuttle area.

There are some excellent Bernina groups on Yahoo Groups. One is "BerninaThirtySomethings" that has quite a few very knowledgeable Bernina users and some techs who may be able to provide some suggestions. You will need a Yahoo email account, search for the Bernina groups, and then request to be added. Once added, you can post your questions.

My bernina 1004 feed dogs wont move when switch is put into drop position.

Not completely sure about your B. 1004 but in my model Bernina, the feed dogs are lowered so the fabric can be moved by the operator, like when free-motion quilting. The feed dogs don't have contact with the fabric, there's no need to move.

Feed dogs won't work

Take your machine to an authorized Bernina dealer for service.

Proper service and care will ensure the value of the machine.

This brand holds it's value better than any other brand and always resells for good prices on Ebay.

You can check the Bernina website for dealers in your area.

I hav e Bernina 1150. When I attach the walking

Hi, when you quilt straight lines using the walking foot, you need the feed dogs up, to move the fabric in a straight direction under the needle. When you do free motion quilting, which is done with a darning foot, your hands move the fabric in many different directions. Since you want to be the one to move the fabric, you put the feed dogs down and you do the work. So when you use the walking foot, keep your feed dogs up. When you use the darning foot, feed dogs down.

If you have a drop feed mechanism make sure you have not dropped the teeth down by mistake, make sure you have enough pressure on the foot, remember you should not be able to pull the fabric through by hand if the teeth are up
