You shouldn't leave the battery on charge all the time. Only charge when it needs it. You have most likely exhausted the battery life.

SOURCE: I have a dyson animal dc44 it doesn't seem to be charging I have bought another battery but still making the same noise that the battery is dead and motor won't start :-( thanks Helen

Hi Helen, it's Allan at Dyson.

I am sorry for the delay in contacting you.

If this isn't a power issue, then I would suggest it is an issue with the main body. This would be better discussed with an agent over the phone as they can run through diagnostics with you.

Please give the Dyson Helpline a call on 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA), 0800 298 0298 (UK). Our experts will be happy to talk you through some further diagnostic checks when you have your machine easily to hand.

I'm sorry I couldn't be of any help directly and I apologise again for the lateness of the reply.

    All the best,

    Allan

SOURCE: Dyson dc44 animal when you connect the charger it charges for about 30 seconds then the light goes out and it will then run for only about 10 seconds

It's only a few months old though! And I have lost the receipt. Looks like I'll be buying a new one, thanks though.

Dyson DC44 Animal Handheld Vacuum, keeps cutting out

dyson-dc44-animal-handheld-vacuum-keeps-ehecv3x4uj13pgwprhzrjmma-4-1.jpgThe battery falls slightly loose, so you have to fasten it securely to the body of the vacuum. I learned this from another user here on Fixya. He uses electric tape. I used one of those rubber bracelets that kids wear. Worked perfectly!

Green light on DC44 but nothing is happening

Hi Emma, it's Jack at Dyson.

I'm sorry to hear your DC44 Animal doesn't seem to be working correctly. If the green LED indicator on the machine lights up, but the machine itself doesn't run, this suggests the battery is flat. It could mean that it's not recharging correctly when connected to the docking station.

It would be worth temporarily disconnecting and removing the charger cord from the docking station and plugging it directly into the machine - the machine should recharge fully within 3.5 hours. If the machine then works as normal the charger cord may not have been corrected fitted to the docking station.

If you'd like further advice from our experts after you've given this a try, please call the Dyson customer Helpline on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), or 1-877-397-6622 (CA).

DC 44 animal wont charge. Charge light comes on then off after about 30 seconds.

Hi Darren, it's Jack at Dyson.

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulty recharging your DC44 Animal. It should charge from flat within 5.5 hours when connected to the charger assembly, or placed in the docking station, as shown in the video above.

The charge light will turn off once the battery is fully charged. If it seems to be shutting off prematurely, we would need to take you through some quick diagnostic checks when you have the machine to hand. This will help us confirm what may be needed to resolve the issue.

Please give the Dyson customer Helpline a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), or 1-877-397-6622 (CA), to speak directly with our team of experts.
