Sounds like a slow drain problem.
It would be suggested to check the drain hose, the filter and pump, and maybe replace the pressure switch if that does not work.
Sequence:
1. open up the filter and clean it
2. check the drain hose, and let it drain out freely into a bucket
3. run the machine without clothing to see if it starts working again
4. check if the pump runs
5. replace the pump line pressure switch.
If it still does not work, consider buying another machine, since the cost of the logic board is significant. (maybe the machine is old enough and needs to be replaced)

SOURCE: I have problem E40 on Zanussi zwd 1680 w

E40 is door interlock error, it means that either the door interlock is stuck or faulty, or the wiring from door interlock to main control board are not connected.

Story could be lengthly so in brief, check to see if drain pump is not blocked and if door latch is functioning correctly.(use a multimeter if you can). If it all measures out as good, then your control is faulty. Does the water fill up to the correct level when you start the cycle? Does the motor hum when trying to run. If so check the capacitor.

SOURCE: I am getting a Code E20 on Zanussi Washer Dryer

E20 is an error code for drainage failure.

Check where the appliance drain hose connects to the house drains for a blockage.

If it's onto a spigot under the sink, take them off and check both for a blockage.

If these are ok then it's likely to be a blockage in the pump.

You'll need to drain the water out manually.

Put a shallow dish below the filter and slacken the filter.

Tighten it to stop the flow of water while you empty the dish.

Once empty, take the filter out, clean out the debris and ensure nothing is left jamming the pump.

Before refitting the filter, put the machine on drain or spin and listen at the filter housing to see if you can hear the pump running.

If you do, fit the filter and try the machine again.

Not sure how full the drum is when you are using the dryer, but I have this appliance and it works best if the drum is half full. If the drum is full, things don't dry properly because the air can't circulate.

If that doesn't work I'm out of ideas!

SOURCE: zanussi zwd 12270s push start

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

Sorry but I do not know your particular machine and I haven't ed4 in my fault code list for Zanussi BUT I would suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor lint tray/filter. So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters.
If this does not cure, you will need a service call, sorry ;-0(

Here are my complete, general pre-typed guidance notes for checking both the filter and the motor ;-0)
-------------------------------------
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!) and most are held in by a round cover/knob.

REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT!

It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. If it doesn't work then the motor is malfunctioning!

Hope the filter is the problem and good luck!

Error e40 come up on my washing machine zwd 1472 s

Hello,
E40 normally points to a fault at the door switch, sometimes when the door switch fault occurs it can also cause damage to the main P.C.B.(Programmer).As this machine is still in the major parts warranty it would be advisable to get in touch with Electrolux.

Error code E 31 on a zanussi zwf 1431 front loader machine may not be water in. water feed and filter ok

Hello,
The code E31 relates to a problem normally with the pressure switch, heater or maybe the Programmer. The heating element may even check out with a test meter but it can be an earth fault and normally just replacing this part cures the fault. If you are not electrically competant it would be worth getting it checked.
Hope I have helped.
