Hobart n -50 where do i put grease in, machine makes a grinding noise

That is a $10k to $20k mixer, depending on where you buy it. I have used one of these. Unfortunately, grinding noises that result in the motor stopping can be fixed with a power disconnect.

Grinding noises = dry bearings, to seized bearings, to shredded or stripped gears. You need a Hobart Service Tech.

It sounds like either a partly stripped gear or a broken driving pin. If it is one of those options though I'm surprised it has not stopped completely.

After viewing and listening to your video, my first guess would be bad bearing(s). The sound varies with the speed of the agitator, so the noise is at the speed of the transmission shaft or planetary area. These mixers use very common standard bearings. As such, they are available very reasonably from sources OTHER than Hobart. You will need to take the transmission apart in order to find and solve the problem. Study the parts manual in detail. It seems complicated, but once you understand it, it is logical. I highly recommend that you get a really good understanding of how it works and goes together before you start taking it apart though.

on a a200 there is no oil. this mixer requiers grease. if mixer is leaking oil it is because the grease is broken down .you have to pull tpo cover off mixer remove trans. parts clean out old grease clean all trans. parts reassemble put top cover back on .then make sure mixer runs in all 3-speeds before putting 1.5 cans of -47grease back in grease can be bought @any hobart office

You can put in a all purpose grease. I use MOBIL 1 Synthetic Grease (RED IN COLOR) and it works fine -- you will need 3 tubs of 16oz's each tub. The cost is 30.00 or so. Make sure to get all of the old grease out and pack around each of the trans and worm shafts with the grease, then pack around the MOTOR GEAR and then put all back together. While running it make sure you can see the grease and hear the noise of the mixer through the 2 caps that are FILL caps on the head of the mixer. ALSO, you will find that you will lose 1st gear IF you have tigtened down too much on the LOCK nut, SOOOO loosen in small increments until all 3 gears are perfect and strong. ALSO, the key to noise adjustment is to Tighten (WHILE MIXER IS RUNNING) slowly the large nut that controls pressure on the worm transmission. The general rule with tigtening this nut is to tighten it till it will not tighten and then back off the nut -- IF the unit when starting does not run or it seems bound up when you first turn it back on, THEN you have tightened it TOO MUCH, SOOO back it off again (loosen it) until it starts smoothly and when you turn the mixer OFF it should come to a slow stop and not abruptly stop the mixer. Ist check your agitator shaft for looseness. the shaft you put the beater on. wiggle side to side. if tight no play. If in first its quiet but you can here a grumble under load but second gets louder. and third even louder. If the shaft is tight. your gears down there are warn. you can take that all off with the two nuts underneath. and check the grease on the gears but even with new grease on them it most likely stay loud. grease it with hobart grease from your loacal hobart for the A-200 planitary not the transmision they also fve grease for Trans. if you can take the noise run it that way if not decide which arm & leg you want to give hobart for new gears.

CE is the marking that shows its european conformant.  I think the difference is mostly in terms of the no volt interlock switch.  This means the KA style N50 bowl won't work with the CE models - too low.
