Mitsubishi wd-73640 showing green dot randomly on tv. When the tv first turns on, green dots appear on white spaces or light colored areas of the screen. Sometimes they'll go away after some time.

Recently I've noticed that most of the screen will get the green dots. If I change the inputs it gets better, but still some remain, and they even jump around depending on what image is on the screen. the tv is a mitsubishi wd-73640 dlp

It seems you might have an issue with the dmd board. Go to the menu, and if the dots still show on the menu, the issue definitely is with the dmd board but if they don't come up on the menu, the issue will be with the video board.

SOURCE: Own a Samsung DLP TV 42 inch and white dots have

The random whit dots you are seeing is more than not the DMD or million little mirrors board. The white spots represent some of the mirrors that are sticking in the on position. In that case they are always reflecting white light from the lamp. I don't concider the DMD board a do it yourself repair since on the older DLP set it requires mechanical alignment as well. The best thing to do is contact a techincian and see what they might charge to repair the TV for you. Please take a few moments to rate my answer...Thanks..

Bright white spots on mitsubishi wd-73833 I just replaced the lamp and now these bright white spots have started to appear!

This unit uses a DLP (digital light processor) chip and if this starts to fail then you will get spots appearing on the screen. The DLP chip will need to be replaced.
