SOURCE: String-trimmer (weed eater) won't start.
the only thing left is the coil that is inside the cover right next to the flywheel with a gap of 10 thousand of a inch a business card will work but a new coil is almost thr price of a new trimmer unless you have a used one
Testimonial: "Thanks for the help. We did look at the coil. Got about 30 volts out of it when we pulled the starter. I hope that means it's OK."
SOURCE: i have a ryobi weed eater clean carb change filter
I have the same problem. It will run if I put it halfway between Half Choke and Full Choke. But, just dies if I put it on Run or Half Choke. Don't ever loan your WE to anyone, They might just try to run it on straight gas--That is what happened on another week eater that I had.
SOURCE: weed eater won't start. changed spark plug,
possibly on/off switch-has it gotten wet? Also check where wiring from on/off switch meets the wiring from the weedeater body.Check those connectors/crimps make sure theyre plugged in /right fit and not wet.Make sure youre ground wire is grounded/attatched/screwed to the machine.Ive had a weedeater get wet twice at the on/off switch and had to bring it in the A.C. overnight to really dry out.It worked.Hope this helps. If none of this does then its maybe the coil(semi-internal-no fun) or the fat wire carrying the spark from the plug to the body(semi-internal-no fun).Good luck!
SOURCE: My Husqvarna 323? weed-eater will
The 323 was a good little engine, it did not suffer with any real problems, if it has a good spark and there is fuel to the plug it should fire, if not i would suggest that there is a mechanical problem, the flywheel has a moulded key, it may have sheared the key putting the timing out, if there is excessive piston wear this will also stop it firing up, there will also be a spark arrester in the muffler outlet, make sure this is not blocked.
SOURCE: stihl weed eater runs 2min. then stop
Stihl weedeater was running and stopped suddenly. Put in a new fuel filter and cleaner air filter with soap and water. Checked spark plug and it appeared fine. Started the weedeater, ran for a second or so and stopped. Spark plug wasn't gas fouled. Could it be the carburetor needing new diaphram gasket and spring.
