Question about Sanyo Xacti E6 Digital Camera.. I know it's an old model, and I haven't used it in really long. Today I went to charge it as I needed it and it's not showing the picture that is to be taken. The LCD screen and buttons are all working, and it displays the pictures stores on the memory card, but when trying to take a picture the screen is blank, you can take a picture but then you just have a photo of a blank screen. Any ideas what the problem might be?

SOURCE: LCD blank & No picture taken

This appears to be a well known CCD problem, which Nikon acknowledges only for the COOLPIX 3100, 5700 and SQ models. Nikon denies the CCD problems on the 5400 are related, even though a Google search for this problem returns numerous results which claim the same defective Sony CCD sensor was used in the 5400 as was used in the 3100, 5700, and SQ models. SOURCE: Blank LCD screen

The Display button manually turns the LCD display on or off to save batteries. If you accidentally had turned the LCD off, It should only take one press of the button to turn it back on and leave it that way. As such, it's not you but the camera. The A570 IS is relatively new. Your camera is likely still under warranty. If so, contact Canon for warranty repair (see the following link):

SOURCE: no picture display when taking shot. Blank pictures produced when shot taken.

Solution:
Ebay has used cameras (DX4530) for about $75.00 with shipping. Kodak's repair service for these cameras is done by mailing in the camera -- and the baseline starting price is about $140.
I'm planning to go to Ebay and buying from a seller with a good track record and reputation.

SOURCE: Sanyo XACTI HD1 Camera-No Pictures / Videos captured.

I have intermittent problems of this type too. Occasionally I get a blank screen in the display mode.

Does the red light on the back of your camera flash while the screen is dark? Mine does.

It is beginning to bug me a lot. It may be because I got my camera wet in the past (and hence I have broken my camera), but I doubt that would result in a partial failure.

I think that the Xacti HD1/HD2 has issues a bit like a blue screen of death on an old Windows computer when faced with storage problems.

I.e. it works but crashes sometimes when it cannot store to its storage medium.

These things work for me
1) Turning the power on and off via the button underneath the screen.
2) Removing and re-inserting the SD card.
3) Turning the power on and off by removing the battery.
4) Using a different (and faster?) SD card.
I am still using my HD2, but I am finding that I must attempt solutions 1-3 about once a day.

It could be because the card I have been using recently is not fast enough. The HD2 accepts both SD and SDHC cards. My SDHC card (which is newer) seems to result in fewer problems, either because the SDHC format is more suited to the Xacti HD2 or becaues the SDHC card I have is faster that then SD card I have. I suspect problems with the speed of the card. I am using cheap SD cards.

I want to connect my e6 camera to the computer so that i can copy images from the SD card. it is not showing, what shd i do now.

The best, simplest and fastest way is to use a memory card reader.
Later if you wish to format the memory card, do it in the camera, but never in the computer.

Is SDHC cards with 4 GB useable in the E6 camera?

Sorry, your camera is not compatible with SDHC. My best advice to you is to find a 2Gb card and be certain it does not say SDHC on it.

SANYO VPC-T700. I cant find my manual and I dont know how to recharge the camera battery. I plugged the USB cable into my computer and nothing happens and of course I need the camera today!

I don't think you can charge via Computer USB.. you need to use the Charger plug that comes
with the camera. Plug it up into the wall.. You should charge it overnight, but i know you don't
have that kinda time

Sanyo will replace it for $50 if you mail it to them. Just contact them for the address and slip.
This is common. The parts are hard to find. Your best bet would be ebay

The battery for my sanyo digital camera won't charge.

I had this same problem with my Sanyo. I went on E Bay and purchased a new battery.. It was about 8 dollars and shipped from China. But it worked when I put the new battery in and charged it.

Hi There, I have a Sanyo Xacti E1BL waterpoof digital camera which is just over 12 months old. I have just gone to use it and nothing! Will not even take a charge. Completely dead. Can you advice

Hey sue9268,
I would first try cleaning the battery contacts. If this doesn't work then this problem is most likely caused by either a faulty battery pack or battery charger. Most retailers that sell cameras should have a charger that you can test your battery pack on, and if the battery pack tests out fine then you should probably purchase a new charger. Of course if the battery pack is bad then you should purchase a new battery Pack. If none of this works I would have your camera looked at by an authorized service technician. I hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Allan

Sanyo Xacti

Either the CCD imager is failing or there are ribbon cables that are coming unseated inside. IF it's cables it should be a cheap fix. If it's the CCD it will be upwards of $100.
