I deal with these routers on a daily basis w/ Frontier. Likley the radio is getting hott and its starting to burn out.. Put your hand on the radio, see if its running rather hott. If it is, unplugg it for an hour. If your a frontier customer, call tech support, get it replaced!

Right, you need to click
>Start
>Computer
>Vista C
>Toshiba
>Drivers
>WLAN
>Realtek
Then find a file called Setup, there may be several. You are looking for the one which is an Application. Mine is around 450kb in size.
Double click it to correctly install the Wireless adapter.
Follow the instructions on screen. This should take no more than 90 seconds from start to finish.

If you want to hook up the printer directly to your wireless gateway, you could get a print server. They are made for usb or parallel printers and run about $40 to $70 for a single printer hookup. Run the software that comes w/ it to create network settings and for installation.

Unplugging the wireless router and connecting it again should not have altered the wireless connection/configuration. You have connected the cables correctly because the Internet works when you connect a LAN cable to the router.
The Linksys wireless configuration or the wireless card configuration in the computer was changed it to lose the wireless connection. The wireless card configuration needs to be changed to match the wireless router's settings or change the Linksys with new configuration settings and configure the wireless card accordingly.

  1. Plug a USB key into a computer you can access the internet with
  2. Get updated drivers from manufacturers site
  3. When prompted to save download choose the USB drive letter which you should see in My Computer/Computer on your 'desktop' screen.
  4. Save file(s) and them remove the USB key when safe to do so.
  5. Insert USB key into your Gateway NV53A and either run driver installer directly from USB key or copy files onto your Gateway.

Hi, Have u tried connecting ur computer using an Ethernet cable if possible and see if it's working. You computer might have lost the drivers for the wireless adapter. If its working using Ethernet try do an update for the wireless. Hope this help Regards

Seems like your Operating System is Vista or Win7.
Well make sure you are connected with Ethernet cable
Go to Start - type CMD and click CMD on top
You will be MS-DOS prompt
Type - IPCONFIG and press enter Check IP address and Default Gateway for Local area connection
Open Browser, type the IP address you saw in Default gateway and press enter You will be asked to type the username /password for your Router check Wireless settings there and change your SSID and password
Now try connecting to the wireless network after removing ethernet cable

On your computer, open a command prompt (Start>Run> type in CMD), and the type in "ipconfig" without the quotes. This will give you the IP address and the default gateway. Type the IP of the default gateway into your internet browser (it may not be 192.168.1.1). If it still doesn't work, try putting https://192.168.1.1 in the address bar. If that still doesn't work, then make sure you're connected to the router with an ethernet cable and not over wireless. Some routers do not allow wireless client computers to access the configuration page. Good luck.

If you connect the computer directly to the modem, does it work?
If that works then the modem is working.
Now connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
You will need to open the set up page of the router to check the settings of the router.
You can set up the router without the CD also.
It is very easy.

Connect an Ethernet cable to one of the 'LAN' ports on the router and to the network-port on your computer.

Click Start
Click Run
Type CMD and press ENTER
Type IPCONFIG and press ENTER.

You should get output like:

Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 124.268.336.448
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 123.456.789.0

Start Internet Explorer.
Type: http://123.456.789.0
to connect to the web-server "inside" the router.

Run the "wireless network setup wizard" to configure the router
with an SSID and a password.

Save and reboot the router.

Disconnect the Ethernet cable.

Your computer should report "Wireless Networks are available".
Choose your network, and enter the password for the network.

You will need to check the wireless settings of the router.
You said that it works only with the ethernet connection but not with the wireless connection.
Check the IP address of the computer when it is connected with the cable to the router. note down the default gateway number.
Open the set up interface of your router with the Default gateway number.
once you are able to open the set up interface of your router, you will be able to change the wireless settings of the router.
after that you will need to conncet to the wireless network on your laptop.

Hi,
you say it suddenly stopped working, if you can connect to the router via ethernet cable then try to access the router's web utility page and make sure your router is in mixed or G-only. If you can't still connect to the router through wireless then try restarting the Wireless Zero Configuration from windows. This is how it's made: Go to control panel and double-click "administrative tools", then double-click "services". You will see a list, scroll down to Wireless Zero Configuration and click "stop", you'll see a progress bar. After that click "start", you'll see another progress bar. Now try connecting to your router via wireless connection. If you still can't connect then repair the connection by right-clicking the wireless icon at the bottom right corner. Keep repairing until you connect.

This is a Wireless Gateway not a router. Although the Actiontec website says that it uses NAT firewall like a router would.

If you do not get any green lights this usually means the wireless gateway is broken. Try plugging it into power but not the modem. Wait a few seconds. Are there any green lights?

If so, then the gateway is not configured correctly to work with your modem. You may have a smart modem. Call your ISP, for help.

If not, then it is probably a bad gateway. You can try to connect to the configuration web page that comes with the gateway. OR Power on the unit while holding down the Reset button for a minute. This will reset it to factory defaults.
