I don't know exactly which model of the Thomson Lyra you have, but you can visit the Support page on their website, find your particular player model, and download software updates that might help solve this problem.

You need to download RCA video converter from the RCA website or from the disk the mp3 player came with.http://download.rcaaudiovideo.com/downloads/rcavideoconverter.exe

If you haven't done so , pull out the batteries count to 60, then put them in again, make sure you don't
have the unit on "HOLD", and push the "ON" button to reboot your Lyra
player. Also here is the link to the available software. Just click on your model number.

SOURCE: how can I connect my sony mp3 player to pioneer deh-5800mp in dash stereo
Hello nmfsc,
I am not specifically familiar with the DEH-5800MP but many car stereos these days have an input jack on the faceplate (or under it) which is used to connect the stereo to a MP3 player using a special cable which is available from the manufacturer.
If your stereo doesn't have an input jack, there are other options. One popular method is to connect a wireless transmitter like this one to your MP3 player set to an empty FM radio frequency which you can receive using your car stereo
Best Regards,
