Sounds like your USB driver in your computer is corrupt try updating your USB driver by right clicking my computer, click properties, click hardware, click devise manager, scroll to Universal serial bus controllers and try updating the drivers if one has a yellow mark next to it that’s the one to go for.
You can uninstall one by one and reboot and the wizard will reload that particular driver saying new hardware found normally one of 27C8, 27C9, 27CA, 27CB, 27CC anyway try them all one after the other.

Unfortunately the camcorder dosn't have a DV (firewire) port to allow you to do this only USB. To burn a disc you would need to go to your computer or purchase a dvd burner.
Another solution is to make sure you are using the usb cable that came with the camera. For some reason, if I use any other, the computer won't recognize the camera. It's the one with the magnet. In fact, mine has two magnets on it.
